Dreadnaughts of RendiliEdit

BTW, Adar also appeared in at least the second issue of the Dreadnaughts of Rendili arc in Republic. There's a dialogue mention and a small pic. First appearanceEdit

Maybe I am mistaken about the difference between Sources and Appearances. As far as I know: Adar Tallon DOES appear in Tatooine Manhunt. The player characters find him, interact with him, talk to him and the book even includes lines that Tallon speaks. Tallon would not appear in this plot only if the end of the plot be non-canon. However, further references include "Jodo Kast being defeated by the associates of Adar Tallon" (GG10BH, I think) - leading me to believe that, canonically speaking, the events in Manhunt took place as described in the book, including the last scenes. Manhunt was published in 1988, some ten years before Rebellion was released. Why is Manhunt a Source and not an Appearance? What am I missing? • This is something that is not clear to me, and I hope to be able to resolve it with a CT in the nearby future. However, generally RPG adventures are considered sources for whatever reason (I personally think they should be considered appearances). So, going by this, and the fact that you can't, by our standards, "appear" in a "Source", Rebellion is his first "Appearance". Thefourdotelipsis 09:51, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Since when? As far as I know, we treat anything that has a "narrative" as an "Appearance". A "source" is merely a reference work, whether OOU (ie, databank) or IU (ie, the New Essential Chronology). QuentinGeorge 10:34, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

      • If a video game is an appearance, so is an RPG adventure. I've treated them as such in the articles I've worked on. I've also put the "first appearance" template on the first source a subject appears in, for that matter. —Silly Dan _(talk) 11:44, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
        • That's...not correct, as far as I'm concerned. "First appearance" is for when a character makes their first "Appearance," in the way that we use the word for our lists. If they first appeared in source material, that's a "Mention." As I said though, I'm going to put a CT through that'll clear all of this up. Thefourdotelipsis 11:56, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
          • I disagree - Tallon actually appears in Tatooine Manhunt - it's a depiction of a series of events. This is different from say, the NEC, which is a representation of an IU book which mentions Adar Tallon. QuentinGeorge 12:12, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
