CategoryEdit

Although he was alive during the Old Republic, what makes him worthwhile for Category:Old Republic characters? --SparqMan 06:00, 16 Nov 2005 (UTC)

AppearancesEdit

Was he actually in Solo Command? He's not in the Dramatis Personae. I personally don't remember him in it, but it has been several years since I read it. -- Ozzel 19:01, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Gotcha. Thanks! -- Ozzel 19:24, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Woa, that's him on the Falcon's guns? I did not know that. - lalala_la

  • Yep. And you weren't alone; I'd been disputing this fact that Colonel Cracken and Airen Cracken were the same fellow for months. With the recent publication of the The Complete Visual Dictionary and his presence therein, however, it's now indisputable. jSarek 08:45, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Airen Cracken = Colonel CrackenEdit

According to Leland Chee's latest Blog they are the same person...that's why I changed it... Borsk Fey'lya 07:00, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Some Edits NeededEdit

  1. I'm pretty sure that Cracken is unambiguously a General before RotJ—he's given this rank in Cracken's Rebel Field Guide and Cracken's Rebel Operatives, both of them Rebellion-era (even if his age of 75 in The New Jedi Order: The Unifying Force could mean that the biography in Cracken's Rebel Field Guide, written when he was 51, should be retconned as being revised in 6 ABY). I don't have access to Star Wars Adventure Journal 12, but there's a pre-Hoth story there that I suspect already has him as a General, too,
  2. We also need to fix Cracken's terms of office under the NR. He remains in charge of Intell until Isard's Revenge, but Madine is Supreme Allied Commander for Intelligence by the time of Darksaber; he may return afterwards, before Rieekan, but Cracken's Threat Dossier suggest, at least implicitly, that he returns after Rieekan and the Black Fleet Crisis, and remains in post until the Corellian Trilogy.

Thoughts? --McEwok 17:32, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

  • 1. You're absolutely right. In fact, his report on Jan Strange/Jan Ors, made before her full defection (and thus well before the beginning of Dark Forces), would seem to imply he's been a General (or at the very least in charge of Intel) since before A New Hope. However, the newer references to his colonelhood might be seen as a retcon of this information. It may also be he held separate ranks in separate organizations. 2. I say where it's concrete, make it concrete, where it's vague, leave it vague. jSarek 08:18, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
  1. Okay. I think Perhaps someone should ask Chee? The post of Supreme Allied Commander for Intelligence gives him an automatic authority over all of Alliance Intelligence, so it's not strictly neccessary for him to be a General; on the other hand, retconning the CCG card, or explaining it as a cover rank to disguise his true status as SACINTELL: what does Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary say?
  2. Okay, again. The article definately needs to note that Madine takes his old title somewhere between Isard's Revenge and Darksaber—although I suppose "Director of Intelligence" might have become a seperate title at this time, in which case it's possible for Cracken to be Director while Madine is SACINTELL. I'll also try to find out if there are any direct references to him after The Black Fleet Crisis in the sections of Cracken's Threat Dossier, or anywhere else relevant.

    • for what its worth, the WEG pictures all show "General" Cracken with double insignia, one identical to that of Dodonna in ANH and the other identical to that of Solo and Calrissian in ROTJ, i.e., general's insignia, however, the ROTJ "Colonel" Cracken is noticeably wearing a very different (assumedly Colonel's) insignia, indicating he is INDEED a colonel at the time--if this rank is retconned as an error, then we would have to ignore the G-canon insignia.JustinGann 00:08, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Kenner toyEdit

This has been deleted:*In 2006 Hasbro released an action figure named Endor Rebel Soldier in their SAGA Collection that look remarkably like Cracken. The action figure uses, as a representation in the box, the first picture on this page (the infobox pic), which has been unambiguously identified as Airen Cracken. They also use a second pic of a black soldier who is not Cracken. I suggest a rewording specifying that it is not speculation. - Skippy Farlstendoiro 09:01, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Yes, if it has been proven that it is not speculation and is in fact Airen Cracken, please re-add it with an appropriate source for the information. —Xwing328(Talk) 18:51, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
  • (correcting my own comment b/c I wasn't thinking) If this figure has been confirmed to be Airen Cracken, AND if the character contributes anything new to canon, then re-add the appropriate information with proper sources. Otherwise, bring the information about the action figure to the Star Wars Merchandise Wiki. —Xwing328(Talk) 18:54, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
    • No. Merchandising stays off this wiki. Especially if it's anything from the movies. --RedemptionRedemptionusersymbolTalk 18:53, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Actor Edit

I noticed that there did not appear to be any mention of the actor who portrayed Airen Cracken, or at least not in the Behind the scenes section. Although I don't know much about this character, so I may just be bring a bit ignorant of something that everyone else knows. Could something be done about this please?--Maceo 06:10, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
