The rebellionEdit

I might have missed something, but did she ever actually join the rebellion in the book? I don't recall anything like that --Lewisr (talk) 03:50, September 5, 2017 (UTC)

  • I'm barely into the novel yet, but I'll keep an eye open for that. Might be best to remove it for now. - Cwedin(talk) 03:57, September 5, 2017 (UTC)
    • Enjoy! If anyone who has read the novel can show where its said then feel free to add it back --Lewisr (talk) 04:01, September 5, 2017 (UTC)
      • I think pg 328 suggest she joins Leia, and pg 381 with Bail accepting her. I don't know if that counts--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 04:59, September 16, 2017 (UTC)
        • I don't think the book provides quite enough evidence. Holdo agrees with the rebellion and helps them on one occasion, but that doesn't really make her a member, IMO. Her role will likely be clarified in later works, but for now, I wouldn't say it's infobox-worthy. - Cwedin(talk) 05:13, September 16, 2017 (UTC)
          • Agreed, hopefully the TLJ Visual dictionary will clarify this.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 05:16, September 16, 2017 (UTC)

Holdo's battle? Edit

In TLJ, Poe mentioned about "Admiral Holdo of the Battle of XXXX". Does anyone recall what battle Poe mentioned? Because I don't think that information had been included in the article.  [ pepoluan talk ] 14:38, December 28, 2017 (UTC)

  • Thanks! Hmmm... come to think of it, I'm not sure where to put that information, because when in the timeline the battle happened is still not clear. I'll postpone editing the article until more info appears. (If anyone got more info on the battle's timeline and know where to add the info, feel free.)  [ pepoluan talk ] 18:20, January 1, 2018 (UTC)

Was that battle a loss I mean this woman doesn't even bother to put on a basic uniform much less have a competent plan.Darklord665 (talk)

  • We don't know. Perhaps we'll be enlightened by a comic or short story. But I'm gonna assume that Holdo won because that's what made her famous among Resistance members that never met her.--Shannon, Jedi Knight (talk) 00:40, February 11, 2018 (UTC)

She won sure she wasn't just able to take credit for the win? I mean really she got the rebellion decimated to one ship! Hell she is so incompetent that General I don't know shit about pincer maneuvers Hux won a fight! I mean shit this woman caused a mutiny by refusing to inform ranking officers.Darklord665 (talk) 23:20, February 12, 2018 (UTC)

  • Calm yourself, if all you intend to do is complain please take it elsewhere as this is not the place for it --Lewisr (talk) 23:22, February 12, 2018 (UTC)
    • As Lewis said calm down, we don't care about what you think about her, as the talk template says "This space is used for discussion relating to changes to the article, not for a discussion about the topic in question." You can hate her or love her, but this space is exclusively for changes in the article not discuss your dislike for her --DarthRuiz30 (talk) 23:44, February 12, 2018 (UTC)

Care to address my argument instead of crying?Darklord665 (talk) 23:24, February 12, 2018 (UTC)

  • We don't know anything about the battle except Poe knew her from it, we don't know if she won or lost or what even happened there so I can't really give you anything more than that --Lewisr (talk) 23:29, February 12, 2018 (UTC)

What I am saying is related to her article. She caused a mutiny with bad leadership and got much of the Rebellion killed. Her ineptitude should be pointed out. The same goes for Hux. Darklord665

  • That's your (wrong) interpretation of the film, and we don't put interpretations of characters into articles. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:12, February 22, 2018 (UTC)

So no mutiny happened and the rebels were not reduced to a hand full of people and one ship? Now while I have your attention do stop sending emails about donations.

Neither Wookieepedia nor FANDOM sends emails about donations, so...
There is a military chain of command in the Resistance. We know from The Force Awakens that the First Order has spies everywhere. Telling the entire Resistance the plan would have been a bad idea because Holdo didn't know if there were any traitors among them. So she kept it to a tight circle. Poe could have been in that circle, but he was demoted for reckless behavior. Holdo rightly put him in his place.
What happened is that Poe, like you, assumed that Holdo didn't have a plan. He, being responsible for his own actions, started an unnecessary mutiny because he thought he knew better than everyone else. And what did he do once he found out what the plan was? He blabbed to Finn and Rose, who were with DJ, who in turn used that information to sell Finn and Rose out. That is what led to most of the Resistance being killed.
You're incorrectly siding with Poe over Holdo despite the fact that the movie clearly demonstrates that Poe was in the wrong.
Either way, we don't add interpretations to wiki articles. So it's time to move on from this conversation. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 17:28, February 22, 2018 (UTC)

Meta TagsEdit

Hello, can someone edit the <meta> tags in the page head? They appear to have been vandalized (or were auto-generated from a vandalized version of the page). They don't appear in the "Edit Source" link, and I don't see any other way to change them. Thank you. 2601:801:201:1310:ACA7:B8CC:81AD:F978 20:47, December 28, 2017 (UTC)

Holdo's Force-sensitivity Edit

Give the recent edit here, should we be treating Laura Dern's claims about her character in the same way we treat Samuel L. Jackson's belief that Mace Windu is still alive? As it, possibly notable for BTS material but not "canon" unless backed up by an official source? - Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 10:23, March 28, 2018 (UTC)

  • Given the recent discussion about how tweets from the story group and about author's intent are no longer official canon sources, I would think this falls on the same boat.--D9328 (talk) 12:59, March 28, 2018 (UTC)d9328

3.3 Factual correction Edit

Race: KaminoanEdit

I think the information box should be updated to reflect Admiral Holdo's Kaminoan origins. It says she's a human but that neck is far too long and spindly to belong to anything but the proud Kaminoan heritage.

  • We're not going to reference anything Kaminoan unless we can quote a reliable source on that. Kaminoans aren't the only species that are allowed to have long necks. Star Wars writers are free to make up any new species on the dot. So if they decided to name a new species for Admiral Holdo, they can. And of course, it can just as easily just be a quirk for her character that's not present with anyone else of her species. --Kingsman28 (talk) 18:06, October 13, 2018 (UTC)
