Talk:Amorphiian

Lots of OR here
Edit
This article makes lots of leaps of logic that aren't necessarily supported by the source material. How do we know that Amorphian Beings are "mainly salesmen" and that their technology is "cheap"? And does the SWHS ever say they actually come form a planet called "Amorphia"? We've only met one member of this species, and we can't necessarily paint the entire race to match him. — SavageBob 19:47, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
- If you watch the sketch on the SWHS it does say the following:
- "This product was packed under strict quality control on the system Amorphia and this instructional cassette provided by the manufacturer."

- Both the special AND the article hints so. I will update it MoffRebus 08:27, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Purely Biological, Not Androids

This is just a near-Human race that has an extreme case of exhaustian, right? 24.17.73.18 09:27, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Well lets look at the evidence.
- "This product was packed under strict quality control on the system Amorphia and this instructional cassette provided by the manufacturer. It offers a unique chance for consumers everywhere to meet an Amorphian being."
- ―Woman Announcer
- "The motor abilities of Amorphian citizens are frequently impaired by malfunctions which results in a temporary loss of power. This in no way reflects on the safety of our product, rather it should serve as a guarantee of our high standards of long wear and durability."
- ―Woman Announcer
- Harvey Korman the Amorphian experiences a malfunction, his mouth seizes up, and he uses a screwdriver-like tool to repair himself. This would be consistent with a droid and not a biological.
- The Amorphian looses control of its tongue as it goes into seizure-like spasms and Harvey Korman gently rubs his forehead to relieve this malady. This suggests a more biological solution to the malfunction than a mechanical one.
- The Amorphian slows down and speeds back up to normal operating speed several times during the sketch, suggesting a mechanical nature and not a biological one.
- At the end of the sketch, Harvey Korman the Amorphian experiences a sort of narcoleptic episode that appears to be a combination of biological exhaustion and catastrophic power loss.
- In conclusion because of the observable body of evidence, I strongly suspect the Amorphians are a race of cyborgs containing aspects of both droids and biologicals. It is also not a very far stretch of logic to assume the race is very old and somehow has lost the means, infrastructure, and technology to properly service and maintain themselves. If this line of reasoning is so, then this race also may no longer be able to reproduce and Harvey Korman's character may represent a dwindling remnant of a far larger older population of Amorphians. -- Frank V Bonura 12:01, September 29, 2009 (UTC)
