Is this article really necessary? I think not. Darth Windu

  • If this one isn't then neither are Darth Vader's Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor or Darth Vader's TIE Advanced x1. I am a little curious how far we need to go with articles on individual fighters. Is Corran Horn's X-wing worthy of an article, for example? Oh, and shouldn't this use Template:Individual ship instead of Template:Individual_ship? Same goes for the Vader one. Green Tentacle (Talk) 13:28, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
    • I would say no, none of them are needed. Instead if anything is said it should be part of the page for the ship in question. Darth Windu
      • I think this one at least should be here, as should Vader's Eta-2. Individual ships are those that are named, or that have been modified from their original factory model. Both of Anakin's Eta-2s were modfied, so they deserve a page. Just because they aren't named, doesn't mean they shouldn't be here. If Millennium Falcon had never been given a name, we'd still have an article for it - \\Captain Kwenn// Ahoy! 08:33, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
        • True. Anything with modified specs needs its own article whether it has a name or not. How was Anakin's different to the normal spec, other than the paint job? Green Tentacle (Talk) 09:44, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
          • Based on a discussion over at Talk:Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor, it appears that Anakin's astromech socket has been modified; R4-P17's feet stick out the bottom of Obi-Wan's fighter, but Artoo's don't stick out of Anakin's. Further, Anakin's appears to be the only fighter to sport the "Imperial" six-spoked symbol, as opposed to the "Republic" eight-spoked version seen on Obi-Wan's fighter. I don't know about any further modifications, though - \\Captain Kwenn// Ahoy! 14:18, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
            • I doubt the symbol counts as a modification or else Corran's X-wing deserves an article for having a different paint job. The socket mod should be mentioned in the article, if it's confirmed, as it would add some weight to it. Green Tentacle (Talk) 14:43, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
              • Is there any evidence that R4's feet stick out? Sounds pretty bizarre to me. As for modifications, I don't think there are any. Both of Obi's fighters, both of Anakin's fighters, Mace's fighter and Vader's fighter all appear to be the same except for the paint job. Darth Windu
                • As I said, check Talk:Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor for the discussion about R4's feet, though they can clearly be seen sticking out of Obi-Wan's fighter in the film itself, but Anakin's fighter appears to have been modified in that respect at least - \\Captain Kwenn// Ahoy! 13:30, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
                  • I don't know about that, but I think Anakin probably replaced the ion cannons with lasers(Listen to the sound of the shots. That's the sound of the Sienar ls lasers on a TIE). It's highly possible. After all, when did Anakin ever leave a ship he had true to stock specs? ;) ZeldaTheSwordsman 00:53, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
  • If there are articles for unique starfighters, there should be one for Quorl's TIE fighter, which, when repaired by the Young Jedi Knights, received a hyperdrive. 76.171.55.249 02:20, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
    • Except for the Delta-series which were designed specifically for Jedi, all manufactured starfighters issued to Jedi pilots were modified to capitalize on the efficiency with which they flew while using the Force. Clone versions of the Eta-2 were unmodified and did not have the boosted targeting and maneuvering systems that the Jedi versions had. Ordinary pilots would not have been able to pilot the craft modified for Jedi.Gethralkin 11:54, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Another StarfighterEdit

  • Another of Anakin's starfighters is apparently set to appear in the Clone Wars 3D animation series (it has been made into LEGO- see [1]). Should an article be created on this starfighter? NighthawkLeader 08:11, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Sourcing Edit

The sourcing on this article is there, but it does not say which pieces of information were taken from what source. The formatting is a little strange too.--S•h•o•b•y•4 Talk Page 06:18, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
