Talk:Ante-Endor Association
Back to page
Aside from the whole plagiarism issue, it looks like there's an interesting problem here. The Association has a small role in The Phantom Affair, and it's mentioned by name only one that I can see, where it is in fact called the Ante-Endor Association. The thing is, though, that has to be a misspelling of "Anti-Endor", as "Ante-Endor" would mean, if anything, "the front of Endor". Should the name of the article be changed, even though the "Ante" spelling is the only canon name we've got? CooperTFN 21:22, 1 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- No one responded to this, so I'm gonna go ahead and move it. If someone strenuously objects, let's discuss it here before making any further changes. CooperTFN 07:02, 3 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- I think it refered to "before Endor", as in, "the Empire is just as good as it was before Endor", although that seems self-defeating because it acknowledges the event. I haven't read the comic, have you? --SparqMan 07:12, 3 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah. It's very specifically "Endor didn't happen". And ante- intended as "before" is a bit of a stretch. If that was the idea, they'd probably have called it Pre-Endor. Though that would've been pretty lame too. =) CooperTFN 07:21, 3 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- It's probably a poor Latin-ized piece of work based on phrases like Antebellum. Regardless of our beliefs and its singular named appearance, I think we have to go with the published, canon name until something corrects it. --SparqMan 07:32, 3 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- I'll try to get something out of Leland Chee. Give me a day or two. CooperTFN 07:35, 3 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Chee said we have to assume Ante is correct, and while I still think if we chased down Stackpole and beat it out of him he'd say it's supposed to be "Anti", but I'll be reasonable and move it back. Canon is canon. CooperTFN 01:14, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC)

My Changes
Edit
Tried to clean up the behind the scenes stuff someone added. Dunno how, er... verifiable it is and whether it'd need a source or something. I'll leave that to someone else. I also considered adding in something about the questionable Latin after reading the talk page, but again, I'll leave that up to someone else if they want. Oh, and I removed Tycho's quote. Seemed rather pointless and stuff, but if someone wants to put it back in, I won't protest. 213.107.224.24 17:34, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
