Veruna = Plagueis?
Edit
Would it be appropriate to highlight the speculation that Veruna and the mysterious Darth Plagueis were one and the same? —Unsigned comment by 62.254.64.13 (talk • contribs).
- Sources like DARTH MAUL: JOURNAL and ACTS OF WAR negate this theory utterly. Tam 15:20, 29 Oct 2005 (UTC)

- By portraying Sidious as undeniably the Sith Master on the block, well before Veruna's death. Tam 15:37, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Length of Reign
Edit
Naboo monarchs cannot rain more than 8 years, yet this shows Veruna reigning 13 years. ? —Unsigned comment by JustinGann (talk • contribs).
- I think that the monarchy became elective after Veruna. -- SFH 06:21, 9 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- The monarchy was elective since the time of Jafan. After Veruna, they were limited to two eight year terms (mainly due to the scandal of his reign). QuentinGeorge 07:34, 9 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Nobility
Edit
Can we add he belonged to an out-of-royalty aristocracy? It's said in Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Episode I that he was a cousin to the count of Vis.
Well, I think that it has its small importance, because we know that the Naboo roylaty chooses its monarchs according to their skills and not to their lineage. We know Padmé came from a kind of humble mid-class family, and I beleive it would be in contrast with her predecessor if he had been born in blood-nobility. LelalMekha 18:21, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
actually in many other guide books that feature naboo citizens, there is mentionings of nobles, who are aristocrats, and though naboo is currently an elective monarchy, the noble families could have descended from nobles during the time of ancient naboo monarchs, who werent elected, or they could have even originated from around the era of the formation of the jafan dynasty which was a royal family, so even after the of naboo royal families ended, the aristocracy still exists, so it should noted somewhere that he has some sort of noble lineage. if are willing to say palpatine is noble without proof of his real family origins, we can put that veruna has noble origins, especially with his realtions to other nobles, and it even says that old monarchs were elected from princley families. tdhartjenatyahoo
Date of election (per "SW: Darth Plagueis")
Edit
I'm somewhat confused about Veruna's date of election. While the 65 BBY dating is well confirmed, there is a phrase that casts doubt in my head: "[Palpatine's] move to Coruscant's most exclusive address had coincided with Ars Veruna's ascent to the Naboo monarchy twelve years earlier." Since that phrase relates to the informal gathering organised in Palpatine's apartment suite in 33 BBY, Veruna's ascent would be set at 45 BBY (that is "twelve years earlier"). Can anyone explain this? --LelalMekha (talk) 14:56, December 30, 2012 (UTC)
