RemoteEdit

Does Bao-Dur's remote deserve it's own article? I think so. Lonnyd 12:19, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Probably. Go for it. :) - Sikon [Talk] 13:01, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
  • Deserves it as much as R2D2 ––Bron Hañda 18:08, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Canonically a Jedi?Edit

The Exile CAN train his companions to become Jedi. They don't *necessarily* become Jedi(at least not during the game) as a part of the game's story. Therefore, whilst it might *end up* being canon - we cannot say that it is yet. Unless L.Chee or someone has said something I'm not aware of recently...(Ulicus 23:08, 21 May 2006 (UTC))

  • See Talk:Mira. - Sikon [Talk] 04:15, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I agree in kotor the light side is canon but it makes no mention of what the exiles "neutral" choices were --Dumac 05:07, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
    • It was also quite tricky to get enough influence to make him a Jedi. I couldn't do it until my third attempt.Darth Ceratis 02:05, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
      • Really? He's always the first character to become a jedi when I play. Perhaps he just doesn't like you (influence).--Logan Felipe 03:41, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Why he is classified as JediEdit

I believe that this article needs to add more info as to why he is classified as Jedi. In the main bio it has no mention as to force sensitivity, power, etc. So seeing how I dont have this knowledge, I will leave it up to you. Unsigned comment by Purpilia (talk • contribs).

  • You CAN cross-train him Guardian with full Influence, but gaining influence with him is really tricky. He is not easily swayed by words, and he wishes to think the best of his General. It's almost not worth it to cross-class him, however, since he is amazing as a tech, and Guardians get such low skill points. - Allronix

Kreia and Bao-Dur relationship Edit

I was playing through again the other day, and had something happen that happened that has never happened. Not sure if this conversation only happens as Dark Side, but it went as follows:

Bao-Dur: It is time for you to leave. You are harming him (canonically her) with your presence. I said it is t-

Kreia: There is a world on the outer rim surrounded by Mass Shadows. (Bao-Dur collapses). To walk on the surface is like being buried alive until it seems you'll never breathe again. What manner of creature would have birthed such a thing? Nothing human to be sure. If you dare voice your opinions again, Iridonian, you will forget yourself for a time. Go back to your droids and leave me be. Serve the exile until it is your time to die.

Not sure if anyone wanted to include this in the article, or as a quote, but I thought it was interesting! Skrie 03:23, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

  • It only happens in the dark side version, so it technically wouldn't be canon. --RedemptionTalk Uglykotoricon.svg 03:35, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Energy Arm Prosthetic Edit

This has been driving me batty. The weird beam of energy holding Bao-Dur's cybernetic hand to his cybernetic upper arm doesn't make sense to me. How does that work? Is it like the energy binders on a podracer? That's the only equivalent bit of tech I can find. But why don't we see this tech used anywhere else? How does it bend at the "elbow" like that? Is there any source with a better explanation of this? Maclimes Zero (Star Maps) Infinite Empire.svg 20:54, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

  • I'd hazard a guess that like the controls on a lightsaber that control the length of its blade there are some kind of similar controls that allow the arm to bend, probably utilizing an energy containment field using magnetics, or some such science.Tocneppil 00:04, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
  • ok try and follow what im saying. the top compnent of his arm is right at the elbow. inside is a ball emitter that swivels the beam. the beam is constantly straight and keeps is hand at a certain length. it is basically a miniature tractor beam. otherwise it would be flopping around like a noodle

I Wonder... Edit

Could Bao-Dur be turned to the dark side?

  • I know this is answered within the article... but yes... he can turn, but not canonically... -Kath.Hound 05:56, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Jedi? Edit

How do you learn that he is force senseitve? -Sorry for the bad spelling :(-

  • Because you turn him into a jedi guardian if you build enough influence with him. You don't "learn" as such, except the exile mentions in the conversation where you get the option that she senses his potential to use the force. Jediphile 21:37, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

New Quote? Edit

"I'll take the stupid one, who decided to threaten us rather than shoot us when he had the chance." ―Bao-Dur after being confronted by the Zhug brothers

Anyone else think that this should be in this article somewhere? I thought it was the best thing Bao-Dur ever said and shows part of his personality. Anyone agree? Aqua Unasi 19:59, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Agreed. This is one of my favorite lines in the game. I'll go ahead and change it. Mauser 18:24, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
  • I don't think it fits as the main quote, though. Maybe for the biography. Drewton 25px 20:28, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

PortraitEdit

I've been looking through the pages of the other party members and there seems to be a portrait for both light and dark sides, but here I can only see Bao Dur's dark side portrait. Shouldn't the other portrait be added? 189.217.47.252 01:09, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

  • I added the light side portrait. If anyone minds, I guess you could always delete it. * Cylka * 14:35, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
    • My comment to follow applies to all articles that do such, but I find it rather redundant to have the light side picture if it is the same as the character's normal appearance (as in, physical traits do not differ any). That's just my two cents, and while I wouldn't necessarily object to keeping the pictures, I wouldn't be against removing the either. // ~mikah~ 15:10, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Does he join the Jedi Order? Edit

Does Bao-Dur join the recreated Jedi Order with the Jedi Exile's other companions? ––Bron Hañda 18:13, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

  • We have no idea. There is a lot of suggestion that Bao-Dur was not intended to survive to the end of the game and may have died at the time when the Ebon Hawk returned to Telos to stop Darth Nihilus. There is a reference in the cut content of the game to both Bao-Dur and HK-47 having left Citadel Station, if I remember correctly. HK-47 goes to the HK Factory, but Bao-Dur is never heard from again after that. Speculation goes that is why he appears only as a hologram to his remote on Malachor V, and I think cut content from that message mentions that if the remote succeeds, his sacrifice will not have been in vain, suggesting he has died by then. However, that is all cut content, and later published sources will have to clear the matter up. Jediphile 21:34, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

What happened on Dxun? Edit

Random conversation snippet post Dxun visit has the Exile asking how he feels about the place. I personally haven't run that planet with Bao in tow yet, so I'm not sure what's revealed. I'll update once I do. What ever it is might be something worth putting into the article. Redcryptic 03:26, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Hologram on Malachor Edit

Where is Bao-Dur when the Remote views the holographic message from him? It strongly implied he was dead, but the article says he did not die, where was he at this point? or is it unknown? DarthTyranitar 15:04, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

Is He Dead? Edit

I noticed that the HK Droid Factory quest is considered canon. Would that mean that Bao-Dur is dead, as he supposedly died helping out HK-47?Unsigned comment by 173.175.61.146 (talk • contribs).

  • Considered canon per what source? If there's canonical source that states Bao-Dur is dead, then he's dead, but not otherwise. –Tm_T (Talk) 18:13, June 2, 2011 (UTC)
