Droid Quality
Edit
Did anyone ever explain how droids were naturally inferior to organics, despite everything we know about technology?
After the clone wars
Edit
How did battle droids became so rare after the clone wars? Did the Empire embarked on a massive clean up operations to round up trillions of C.I.S droids across the galaxy? -Darth Tader
- The old West End Games supplements certainly implied that they made military droids highly illegal as one of their first official acts. (A few stories set in the Imperial era, but written after the prequels came out, have shown the occaisional battle droid kicking about, though.) — Silly Dan 03:02, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'm curious about this too. There is a mention in the "New Essential Guide to Droids" that a sizable force of droids, which was composed of B2 Battle droids was used to combat some Yuuzhan Vong firebreathers. If both claims are to be accepted, why would refitting extremely rare old Separatist droids be cheaper or easier than building new YVH-series droids? Seems to me that anything manufactured in the millions or billions of units, and rugged enough for for combat duty is bound to be around commonly, or even in abundance, a scant 44 years later. Example: hundreds original Rifles from World War I (1914-1918) are still kicking around in serviceable condition today. Just a thought. 134.153.31.15 19:20, July 5, 2011 (UTC)
- It's not they were uber-rare just rare to see in active service after Order 66 and the CIS defeat. To use your example M1 Garrand is still out there in the thousands but it not really anyone's front line rifle anymore (Canadian Rangers FTW). As to the second part it's going to be easier and cheaper to fix the B2 as there are millions upon millions to use as spare part donors even they are rusty crap in some warehouse 40 years hence then make an entire brand new YYK. IIRC they were also used before they invented the YVK models a stop gap. (Citrakite 09:07, February 1, 2012 (UTC))

First droid
Edit
With the addition of KotOR's Rakatan droids, shouldnt the earliest battle droids be changed from Xim's warbots to Rakatan combat droids?
Huh?

- Yeah, was just about to say. You can look these things up in the history. Personally, I liked the old image, too. But keep in mind, this article is about battle droids in general, and the old pic was probably more appropriate for the B1s in particular. Enochf 04:12, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Eras
Edit
What Publishing eras did battle droids appear in? B1s, B2s and Droidekas secured battle droid appearances in the Rise of the Empire era and Pollux Assassin droids and Dark troopers secured the appearance of Battle droids in both the Old Republic era and Rebellion era respectively. But what about the New Republic era, New Jedi Order era and Legacy era?OOM-10 07:25, 4 May 2007 (UTC)OOM-10

Size
Edit
Which battle droids are the largest? What about tanks (CIS)?
- I'm not sure if Armored Tank Droids count as battle droids. Is the term 'Battle droid' considered a class of droids or is it simple a term that can be thrown around when talk about droids doing battle? Bradj47 18:54, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
