This is actually the only time the New Republic attempted to retake a planet during the War. The Galactic Alliance retook several planets, the New Republic cut and ran toward the Core Worlds. The battle at Duro in the prelude to Ebaq 9 was little more than a raid. Kre'fey didn't have enough forces to take the planet, he just wanted to take out as many warriors as they could. Merge with Third Battle of Borleias Edit

This article should be merged with the Third Battle of Borleias. They are both part of one, continuous battle that starts with the New Republic retaking the world and ends with their retreat. At no point does the battle stop during the two books. The planet is under almost constant siege from the moment the NRDF arrives. What there should be is a long, comprehensive article that covers the entire Siege of Borleias (the battle is more akin to a siege like Saleucami) and divides each individual engagement under different headings. For example, you could have a section for the initial attack, one for the Domain Cha counter attack and Lusankya pwnage, Operation Emperor's Hammer, the opening engagement of Rebel Stand and other skirmishes, and then Operation Emperor's Spear. I'll see what I can do, but I would have to reread all the relevant parts from both books before I can start. Someone more immediately familiar should at least merge the articles and get a rough framework going.--Sharkey 08:14, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Errant Venture not present Edit

After re-reading Enemies Lines I: Rebel Dream, I did not see Errant Venture as one on of the combatants. In fact, it seems the only Imperial-class ships were the Mon Mothma and the Rebel Dream.

Those are the only two named Star Destroyers, but we know based off Wedge's dialogue that the majority of Fleet Group Three, which was comprised of hundreds if not thousands of warships - including Star Cruisers and assorted Star Destroyers - followed him to Borleias from their own free will. Wouldn't there have been three battles of Borleias during the Yuuzhan Vong War? First the planet would have to fall to the Vong, then the New Republic took it back in the beginning of Enemy Lines I: Rebel Dream, and finally the re-invasion under Czulkang Lah. -- SFH 07:03, 25 Dec 2005 (UTC)

I think this should encompass more than the final battle of Rebel Stand. The Battle of Borleias was much more akin to a siege, as it lasted for something like six months, and it was comprised for several small and large engagements. There's the first battle when the NRDF retakes the world, then there's the counterattack with Domain Cha's fleet that gets owned by Lusankya. Then there's Operation Emperor's Hammer, which takes place at the end of Rebel Dream (the planetary bombardment). During Rebel Stand, there's 1-2 little skirmishes that take place throughout the 1st half. Then there's Operation Emperor's Spear, which is what this article covers. IMO this should be merged with Second Battle of Borleias and rewritten into a much more comprehensive and segmented article, with mutliple parts describing different stages of the battle/siege.--Sharkey 08:01, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Length of Stand Edit

Does anyone know (roughly or exactly) how long Wedge & company held Borleias? Given that the purpose of the battle(s) was to distract and occupy the Vong, I'd think that would be significant, and a worthwhile addition to this article. —Unsigned comment by 74.193.115.85 (talk • contribs).

• The New Essential Chronology puts the initial retaking on Borleias at 27.3 ABY then the next section dated 27.5 ABY includes Luke's mission to Coruscant and with destruction of the YV Worldship. So over 0.2 years, more than 10 weeks. -Fnlayson 05:24, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
