6.5 ABY date must be wrong
Edit
According X-wing: Wedge's Gamble Wedge Antilles when Leia visits him says: "Yavin was over seven years ago. I've gone from being a pilot who thought he was very good to someone who leads a squadron of hotshots and aids an Admiral in planning assaults on the Imperial capital." That was just before this battle. It also changes date to 7 ABY for very important First Battle of Coruscant and following battles. TNEC gave date 6.5-7 ABY. I think it should be changed to later.--Jedi Marty 22:44, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
Dates again
Edit
Correction from Nathan is confusing me now even more. According The Essential Atlas this battle is Z-41d (d=day I suppose) and Z=42:2:17 (seizure of Coruscant). Also year is counted by 12 months (according the map). My previous calculations was apparently wrong (42:1:1). Nathan corrected that on 42:1:7 - making it still in 7 ABY, yet he also changed a year to 6 ABY which would be year 41 after Great ReSynchronization and not 42. So what is correct now and how corectly give dates for these 3 events marked by Z-41d, Z-25d and Z-18d? Can someone make proper calculations? Thank you.--Jedi Marty 04:41, September 24, 2009 (UTC)
It's been a while since I used a Wiki talk page, so hopefully I'll sign this correctly. The "Z-41d" does indeed mean 41 days before the big "Z" day of the Coruscant takeover on 42:2:17. That Z-41d was counted backward from the Rogues inserting onto Coruscant on Z-25d (41:1:23). We had already determined Mrisst as 42:1:7, so that difference of 16 days took us from 25 to 41 in the backward count (or the countdown forward, however you want to look at it). The fact that the events in question are in 42:1 are what make it 6 ABY, rather than 7 ABY. The year 7 ABY doesn't begin until the beginning of 42:3. (Remember: Years relative to ANH, by Lucasfilm reckoning, are literally relative to ANH, so 6 ABY runs from 41:3 through 42:2, then 7 ABY runs from 42:3 through 43:2. If Wookieepedia is using Month 1 through Month 12 on the digital calendar to represent the starting and ending points of a year on the BBY/ABY calendar, which is a separate calendar, not a renaming of the digital calendar, then those date calculations are incorrect.) I hope that explains it clearly. NathanPButler 22:33, September 24, 2009 (UTC)
