Talk:Beta-class ETR-3 escort transport
Back to page
Just a note in terms of capacity for the Beta-class, which in 'Children of the Jedi' is said as being able to hold 120 troops rather than 40. ~~Kraytkiller~~

- Might be as well Beta-class assault shuttle (an article is needed for it, it's now a redirect), Gamma's predecessor described in the Thrawn Trilogy & TT Sourcebook.
- The other thing is that the Escort Transport doesn't appear in X-Wing. It appeared for the first time in TIE Fighter additional scenario packs (DOE IIRC).
- My personal opinion is that the game producers might have tried to make a tie-in: make computer-games-Assault-Shuttle a book-Gamma, and computer-games-Escort-Transport a book-Beta. But then, in XWA, a proper-style Gamma appeared... NLoriel 09:22, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Are we sure that the Children of the Jedi Beta-class is different from this one? —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- It can be of either of these two types - info in the book is to scarce to identify the ship properly. Funny that either of Betas is too small for 120 troops to fit in. NLoriel 15:00, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Wait, there's two Beta-classes? —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Yes, as I mentioned above. One is Beta-class Escort Transport from the computer games; the other - Beta-class Assault Shuttle from Thrawn Trilogy/Sourcebook - a direct predecessor to the Gamma-class Assault Shuttle, with modular construction (its cargo hold could be replaced with transport or spacetrooper modules; I'd have to check in the books for specific tech details). I might write an article about the second one providing I find some spare time somewhere... NLoriel 07:17, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. Let me know if you need any help; the only problem is that I don't have the Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook yet. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

What's the source for its armour? The description says it's supposed to be better than that of the ATR-6, which is listed as 142 RU. Also, what about shield and armour numbers for the Gamma-Class Assault Shuttle? I don't have XWA, but I assume it provides those.--74.220.165.154 22:34, February 4, 2012 (UTC)
