        • I don't see why people keep assuming it couldn't be canon just because a troll posted it, and did so in a way that made the information sound ridiculous.
        • Here's an example: Imagine that the Palpatine article didn't have any information on the events of the Dark Empire series, and simply ended with Palpatine's first death at Endor. Then, by some unlucky circumstance, the first person who submits any information about Palpatine being revived is a troll who posts a paragraph along the lines of "palpatine's remains were blown 2 the planet abyss where they came back together. palpatine remade the empire from scratch and luke decided to become evil and join him to become the new darth vader. luckily then han solo shot palpatine to death with his mad shotting skillz which was so powerful palpatine died 4 good".

        • Obviously, something like that would be removed quickly. But wouldn't it be silly if, from that point on, *any* information posted about Palpatine being reborn was immediately dismissed as trolling or false information, no matter how valid it truly was? It seems to me that's what you're doing here. I'm not saying I'm 100% sure I'm right (I've never read anything first-hand regarding Bib Fortuna becoming an advisor to the Jedi Council) but I've heard it from enough people and sources that it seems likely to be true, and you seem to just be dismissing it simply because of a troll who deliberately posted a falseified version of that information.199.79.168.160 20:38, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
          • What we would do about Dark Empire is the same thing we'd do here - if we have reason to doubt something, we ask for a verifiable source. If that troll said "it's true i read it all in dark empppirre yo," someone could pull out Dark Empire or read a few independent summaries of that comic, and determine that the overall story alluded to by the troll was true. So far, this Bib Fortuna information is unverifiable - no source has been offered with regard to this information. jSarek 23:05, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

  • I just searched my e-text collection. Out of 236 books, stories, and magazine articles in my collection, 17 books contained both case-sensitive strings "Bib" and "Fortuna". 8 of those contained both the case-sensitive string "Jedi" and some variation of the word "council." At least one of those was a false positive. None of those books contained a reference to Bib Fortuna having any contact with the Jedi Council. —Darth Culator (talk) 00:04, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
    • Fair enough. Still, I'm certain I've heard the tidbit about Bib Fortuna becoming an advisor to the Jedi several times before it was posted by the troll in this article, and I'll try to do a bit more research on the subject.

I've noticed that some Twi'leks are having their names changed to the their Ryl pronunciation. Here, I would oppose that. As stated X-wing: The Krytos Trap, the Twe'lek's have formally broken Bib Fortuna's name apart, to signify a formal ostricization from the Twi'lek people. Thus it would be ofensive to the Twi'leks to hear his name put together. Granted, I realize that a non-existant species cannot be offend by us, but I thought I should make that point. -- SFH 19:26, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Yeah. I've read somwhere that his Clan name was "Bibfort'una" (Thus Bibfort of clan Una). And When he was cast out they changed his name to Bib Fortuna to dishonor him or something. But I don't remember where I saw it, so it might just be fanon. --Draii 00:23, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
    • It'd probably be more like "Bib of the clan Fortuna", but as they did with Wedge Antilles name in X-wing: The Krytos Trap (they changed it to Wedgean'tilles, if I remember correctly), they would have changed it to "Bibfort'una" to make it sound more poetic.--Uncanny474 00:55, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Minions, not prisoners

Betrayal is one of my favorite Jabba the Hutt stories, and I just wanted to clarify that Nivek and the other guys recruited by Bib to assist him in assassinating Jabba were not prisoners. They were Jabba's minions just as much as Bib was. They simply met down in the dungeon to avoid being overheard. Unless anyone objects, I've gone and changed all mention of "prisoners" to "minions" in articles relating to Betrayal. - Kooshmeister

It looks fine to me. Fortuna doesn't have anything out of the ordinary as far as appearance below the waist so a full body shot is unnecessary. Fortuna's face is well-known from RotJ and the wiki pic is more recognizable. 66.167.145.218 16:22, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

According to the episode I article, an uncredited Alan Ruscoe plays Bib Fortuna, and Matthew Wood dubbs his voice. But both articles say they played Bib Fortuna, and not his voice. And Bib Fortuna only was in one or two scenes (it can't be like Boba Fett, who was played by Mark Austin, Jeremy Bulloch, John Morton and Don Bies). Darth Echuta 21:40, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

  • He was working for Jabba in the timeframe, though not necessarily as majordomo. It actually fits better if he isn't in The Clone Wars. Though he could still be in the film. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 21:35, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
    • He is indeed in the Clone Wars. Take a look at his entry in the Databank. Same thing happens with Jocasta Nu, you don't see them, but they are casted, probably for the next seasons. --87.222.147.199 10:54, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
