Okay... we've got two very similar articles here: Modified Bryar Pistol and Bryar Blaster Pistol (this one). As far as I can tell, they're both about the gun Kyle Katarn uses when he's not going Jedi with his lightsaber.

If there ARE actually supposed to be two articles, though, it seems to me that one would be about the blaster pistol used in Dark Forces, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, and Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith, while the other would be concerning Katarn's Jedi Outcast/Jedi Academy gun. The DF/JK/MotS Bryar Pistol fires red blaster bolts and only has one method of fire, whereas the Outcast/Academy Bryar Pistol fires yellow shots and can also be charged up for a more powerful blast.

The instruction manuals for both Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith refer to the gun(s) as "Bryar Pistol", neither mentioning the word "modified". Jedi Outcast's instuction book calls it the "Bryar Blaster Pistol". And, after a quick web search, a scan of the Dark Forces instructions reveals that it is the only game to refer to the gun as a "Modified" Bryar Pistol.

So I'm asking you, my fellow Wookieepedians: which is which? Or should the articles be merged, with maybe a section about the variants? SM-716 02:55, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

• Just merged the pages. Seems to me that there's just as much evidence suggesting they're the same gun as there is implying that they're different. SM-716 03:45, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
  • The problem I have with it is that it's a modified weapon and not a factory model. Technically, the term "Bryar blaster pistol" is conjectural, well conjectural canon. I think this weapon is unique to Kyle Katarn, and I would support moving it to "Kyle Katarn's Bryar blaster pistol" much like we have Cassus Fett's heavy blaster pistol. An article for the Bryar rifle still needs to be created, but I think there needs to be that distinction. – Brynn Alastayr 03:00, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

I swapped the images around (the textbox image for the one below) because the Bryar pistol there originally looked nothing like the Bryar pistol people would recognise from the Dark Forces games. The original is still beneath.Savossk

• • Well i say this: Kyle's very own modified weapon, the Bryar Pistol can hold up to 500 shots. A later modification of the Weapon enabled it only to hold 300 shots, but also enabled it to be able to charge up and fire a much stronger shot, at the cost of extra energy cells though.
