I removed the reference to Senator McCarthy. This is a relatively common mistake when dealing with the anti-communist campaign. Mr. Ives was associated with the House Committee on Un-American Activities. Many ill-informed anti-McCarthy scholars and individuals mistakenly use Joe McCarthy and the HUAC interchangebly, when in fact Senator McCarthy had nothing to do whatsoever with the House Committee.
