I removed the following text from the article: "He Also served during the Galactic Civil War as an Elite Imperial Commando to initiate on The Empire's CovertOps missions." I couldn't find any sources for that. Also the user who added it has added a lot of probable fanon, for example 1070.-LtNOWIS 21:13, 9 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Was he actually a commando? I've always heard that he was an elite clone, but not a true Clone commando, like Delta or Omega. -LtNOWIS 03:22, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

In Cestus Deception it names him as a Clone Commando, so it must be true.

  • I don't think so. Cestus Deception names them all, including Nate, as commandos. Just commandos. It's still too vague to say "clone commando". Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 13:00, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

No it says CLONE COMMANDO. Read the book again. When Sirty goes against the JK-13, it calls him a CLONE COMMANDO. Don't bother arguing. I'm reading the book for the third time right now as we speak. Thats what it says.

Ok. their elite clones. I'll agree with you.

  • If you read it closely, they're also called ARC troopers somewhere in there, as I remember this from re-reading it around two days ago. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 19:56, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

But also if you read it closely, it calls Nate a trooper. What do you say to that? obviously the book is innacurate. So either the troopers were a new commando, elite clone troopers, ARC troopers, or they really are clone commandos.

  • Exactly, the book is innacurate. And I never said that they were ARC troopers; it just said that in the book. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 21:24, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Since we FINALLY agree, lets just leave it at clone trooper elite, how bout that?

  • You've already done it already, so I guess so... Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 21:30, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
    • Jedi Trial and The Cestus Deception were written before we had a clear picture of ARCs and RCs, which is why they seem slightly off. Like I said, I think the Cestus guys to be special forces, but not true Katarn-armored RCs. I also think they said Nate was a true ARC, but one of a bunch of normal clones promoted into the ARC program to replace those who died in training. However, we need really need sources for that, which I don't have. -LtNOWIS 22:01, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
      • Yes, one will be needed. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 22:03, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
        • Also, a clone trooper can be referred to as a clone commando, without actually being an RC. Recall in AotC, a clone captain tells Mace he has "five special commando units awaiting your orders", but later we see Mace leading regular, Phase-I-suited troops into battle - Kwenn 11:26, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
          • Yes, but this clone was referred to as an ARC, not a clone commando. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem.svg 11:28, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
          • No, I think Nate, Forry, Sirty, Seefor, and Xutoo are all intended to be Alpha-class ARC troopers. Remember, just before Sirty fights the JK, the announcer calls him an Advanced Recon Commando. Hence the misuse of the word. From page 10: "Clone Commandos were specialized troopers. They had been modified from the basic trooper template to allow for specific training protocols." Since RCs are not genetically altered, and since ARCs are, it more or less settles it. Also, Guide to the Grand Army of the Republic states that: "The Republic commandos were the only true commando force in the GAR, although a number of clone troopers were also trained in commando skills. They and the ARC troopers were often loosely but inaccurately referred to as commandos - something the "Shiny Boys" [the RCs] tolerated with grim good humor." ~~grobiano~~
