Umm... since when was Chertyl human? She's a Selonian in Wedge's Gamble...

"Chertyl Ruluwoor was a female Selonian who had been sent to our unit to get some training. It was a cultural exchange program. She was tall--at least two meters--and slender. Selonians are all very lithe and she was covered with relatively short black fur that glistened a silver-blue when the light hit it right. Definitely gorgeous, definitely humanoid, but definitely not human."
Corran Horn
"The reason the lucky charm Corran wears is on a gold chain is because his sweat is acidic enough to tarnish something like silver. It's within normal range for a human, mind you, but just on the acidic end. And that was sufficient to get through the waxy surface on Chertyl's fur and irritate her skin. And as it turned out, Corran was mildly allergic to her fur."

Just a tiny matter of species difference... --McEwok 04:11, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Yikes, that's a pretty impressive mix-up. I just stuck a {{Canon}} tag on it, because this is definitely one of those "contradicting elements" that reminds us all why Galaxies is S-canon. —Darth Culator (talk) 04:44, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
    • Yeah I remembered about her when I wrote the article. The way I figure it, there had to be two of them for it to work really. I was gonna put this article at Chertyl Ruluwoor (Human), but there wasn't an article on the Selonian character so I just put it here for now to be moved later. -Jaymach Ral'Tir 05:09, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Article movedEdit

Wow, I can't believe this sat this long. I moved the Human version to Chertyl Ruluwoor (Human), created a stub at Chertyl Ruluwoor (Selonian), and created a disambig at Chertyl Ruluwoor.--Valin Kenobi 04:55, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

  • I'm thinking about removing the non-canon tag. The easiest fix is that the two characters coexist in canon and simply have the same name by coincidence (or, perhaps, are both named after someone from Corellian history). Thoughts? Valin Kenobi 07:52, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Same characterEdit

It's pretty obvious that the character in SWG was meant to be the same character from Wedge's Gamble. Shoudln't we just merge the article and mention that SWG mistakenly made her a human? --Azizlight 11:38, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

  • No. We should call as much attention to their idiocy as possible. They're fully capable of creating a Selonian model, they were just too stupid or lazy to do it this time. We shouldn't give them a pass on it. We should force someone to make a tortured retcon, thereby spreading our hatred of moronic Galaxies developers as far into the Lucasfilm family as possible. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 13:16, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
    • I'm sorry but that's not our job as an encyclopedia. Any agendas and bias against Galaxies should be pushed aside here and common sense should prevail. With a name like "Chertyl Ruluwoor", and with the human version being involved in Selonian affairs, the two characters are clearly the same. --Azizlight 14:52, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
      • Though I'm tempted to agree, I'm going to go with a "separate until you ask an official" option...while I believe they're meant to be the same person, current canon shows them to be different people. It's entirely possible that one of them took the name of the other (either the Human wishing to name herself like a Selonian to ingratiate herself with the people, or the Selonian taking the name in honour of the Human) so until stated otherwise (or Galaxies updating the model), I'd say we keep them as they are now. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 15:40, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
      • You're right, that's not technically our job. But since there's no source that says they're the same, and they're visibly different even though the game has no technical reason for them to be, the end result is the same. Different species, different people, different article. Until it's fixed. Any efforts to the contrary will be treated as fanon. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 16:17, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
      • So, I take it "Jabba the Hut" [sic] is confirmed to be the same guy as the Jabba we know and love? -LtNOWIS 16:34, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
        • "Though she dared not go after the terrorists herself for fear of straining the already tense relations between native Corellians and her people, she did ask the previous individual to once again help her by freeing Zayna and bringing her back safely." That's from the article. "Native Corellians" and "her people". Smells like she's intended to be Selonian to me. Can anyone confirm just how that division is stated in the game? Havac 16:46, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Okay. Would people be happy with a BTS section on both pages stating the possibilty that the two characters might be the same? --Azizlight 00:43, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
    • They should. If we really want to be a useful encyclopedia, we'll just explain the conflict in Bts. -LtNOWIS 02:18, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Official word? Edit

Is there an official word that these are treated as two separate characters though? I know a decision was made for Pashna Starkiller (Mon Calamari) and Pashna Starkiller the Human. But as far as I know, no official decision has been made for this one. It would seem pretty easy to make a decision that this Chertyl Ruluwoor is the Selonian, simply with an erroneous depiction which could be placed in the BTS. But I guess I kind of understand being conservative, and making these split articles. StarsiderSWG (talk) 15:00, October 6, 2013 (UTC)
