[edit] Clones After the Clone War

Canonically (thus, not including Star Wars Battlefront II) what happened to the clones?

Did the Emperor have them disposed of, like attack droids, or did he just decide not to clone up another batch and go for enlisted Stormtroopers instead? All I know is that by Han Solo's time they were replaced by regular humans. 68.225.242.19 03:30, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

  • First of all, BF2 is canon, as proven by the databank. 2nd of all, the clones stayed on as stormtroopers. During the classic era, they used a mix of clones and normal recruits, as demonstrated in Star Wars: Empire (see TK-622). Presumably, all of the original GAR boys stayed in the service until they got old and were retired to places like the CF VetCenter. -LtNOWIS 03:37, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Yes, during the early years of the empire all the stormtroopers were clones, and then they started cloning different people, having multiple cloning templates, and it was near the end when they started recruiting, they had non clones far later on, they waited as long as they could before they started enlistment and eventually drafting their enslaved(I mean allied) worlds

Well in Yoda Stories it looked like after the attack on Kamino. Kamino went into a Ice age.

best way to find new clone templates recruits sombody and if they are good enough clone them

[edit] Appearances

I think we should limit the appearances sections only to where the cloning process/technology appears or is mentioned. Not any place clones appear. The appearance of Boba Fett doesn't mean that we have an appearance of 'cloning' or then we should include every single appearance of Fett, Clone Troopers, Palpatine etc. MoffRebus 12:43, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Clean up

I added these 3 new paragraphs:

"Palpatine as well made several clones of himself that his spirit possessed after he was killed on the second Death star.

On Wayland Joruus C'baoth cloned Luke Skywalker using the hand that Luke had lost on Cloud City. The clone was called Luuke Skywalker and was armed with Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber.

Boba Fett was cloned from Jango Fett by the Kaminoans, but unlike the other clones that were created from Jango, Boba was unaltered. He had no growth acceleration and was otherwise completely human." Crion Naxx

[edit] Original trilogy

What source actually states that any of the stormtroopers in Episodes IV-VI are clones?--Lord OblivionSith holocron 21:24, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Improvement

I think this article has improved alot do you think we could maybe remove the "were doomed" thing?

Hello, i'm new here but that doesn't stop me editing stuff right? I find this article badly lacking and i thought i could start improving it. I'd include major cloners (Kamino, Spaarti, Arkania Mikro, Khommites), a bit of their history and what kinda clones, clones and the Force (Luke comments feeling strange resonance from the clones in Thrawn Trilogy), laws, clones and what people think about them and other general stuff.Woorloog 08:23, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] First mentioned

In the list of appearances, it says that cloning was first mentioned in ANH, and I assume that is in reference to Obi's talk about the Clone Wars. However, it also says this is a retcon. What is that supposed to mean? Didn't the original film mention the Clone Wars? DarthMRN 00:24, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

  • I dunno, "Clone Wars" doesn't immediately say that it was a war fought by clones. Unless the ANH novelization said so specifically Lalala la 09:14, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Laws against cloning

I would like to include a section concerning the laws against closing. In "Of Possible Futures: The Tale of Zuckuss and 4-LOM," Zuckuss needs medical care to replace his damaged lungs. The two are trying to save up money to purchased cloned prosthetics, to which 2-1B replies cloning is illegal and assumedly, according to his programming, considered immoral. By what standards was cloning illegal? Old Republic laws? Imperial laws? Perhaps someone out there can add something about this. Toprawa and Ralltiir 22:03, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Question about the Growth Acceleration

Hi. I'm reading the Republic Commando series, and a big part of the plot is that the clones only have half a normal lifespan due to the growth acceleration. This confuses me, as I know that although many retired, there were still a considerable amount of clones operating more than 20 years later, particularly the 501st. Could someone shed some light on this? 75.67.142.56 14:47, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

By the time first Republic Commando book was released, Battlefront 2 was already in production, so either nobody bothered to update game's storyline to update RC book info, nobody knew about this shortened lifespan stuff, or they simply choose not to. Take your pick :) 92.41.181.113 15:35, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Personal cloning

Is it possible for a regular civil to have his own clone? Or they only do the cloning in large scale? If it is possible, how much would that cost for a single clone?

[edit] After the Empire

did the new republic repurpose captured clones retrain stormtroopers and you can reuse them and or did they make their own I mean a cloned soldier would be more loyal then a normal soldier do what the original republic di for its jedi only minus order 66.Derekproxy

[edit] Behind the scenes?

Should there be a behind-the-scenes section to this article? Perhaps where the non-canon videogame "cloning facilities" (e.g., SWG) can be mentioned? fodigg(talk) | 16:02, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
