Name of article
Edit
Just me, but I read this same article on Starwars.com and the ship is named 'Repblic Cruiser'. If this article is named as such because it needed to be more specific than the extremely generalized 'Cruiser', then forgive me for posting this. I just wanted to make sure this was named correctly. t.z0n3
Consular-class space cruiser is its official name as confirmed in The New Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels and Episode I Incredible Cross-Sections. Republic Cruiser is just a nickname. MyNz 4:58, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- You'll notice that the Databank tends to use a common term for everything, like calling the Delta-7 and Eta-2 "Jedi starfighters". Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- I have read in some sources that these craft are also known as CR40s, due to being manufactured by CEC. Is this correct?--Admiral06 00:09, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- It's probably fanon. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- In the recently released Star Wars Miniatures Starship Battles game, the Consular is listed as being armed with two twin turbolasers, the same as the Tantive IV. Is this canon, and if so, should it be included in the article? Darth Windu
- Could be a modified one for war, but I don't know. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Well it makes sense to modify them with weapons. Anyway here are links to the Consular-class and the Tantive IV details which indicate they have pretty much the same weapons loadout. [1] [2] Darth Windu
- I don't see the Consular having two twin turbolasers. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Well the minatures piece itself doesn't show any weapons, but as you can see, the card claims that it does have them. So the question now is, is the information contained within the miniatures card canon or not? I don't know. Darth Windu
- You missed my point. You claimed that the Consular had two twin turbolasers, yet the card only says two turbolasers. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- I think that's probably what he meant. Semantics aside, there have been armed versions of the Consular-class in the EU, notably in Acts of War. I believe they've been referred to as "Republic assault cruisers" by the Trading Card Game - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 14:22, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- So far, I've only seen "diplomatic cruiser". Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Figures. I need to find where I can get some Jedi Guardians packs. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

White
Edit
I could be misremembering, but in Labyrinth of Evil it was mentioned that they were painted white for combat, am I correct? 129.107.81.12 17:56, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- They're white with red stripes in the CW tv series coming out soon. VT-16 18:08, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
990 bby?
Edit
What source says that consulars were built since 990bby?Sgt. Fenix 02:39, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- Under the Republic Cruiser section in the star wars databank, it lists the specific ship used in Episode I as being in service prior for 34 years. The page linked under 990 in the article does not mention the consular. 7:52, 9 January 2008

Article name
Edit
The most recent sources, like Starships of the Galaxy (2007) and The Clone Wars Campaign Guide, give its name as simply Consular-class cruiser, without the space part. Should we move it to most recent designation? Mauser 05:08, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Consular-class Schematics
Edit
Does anybody have or know where I can find a larger image of the schematics?I'd like a closer look at them. I'd like a size that doesn't give me eyestrain. Thanks.Taliesin2 05:33, April 14, 2010 (UTC)
