• In Terran terms, the spelling is an indication of origin; Scotch, Canadian and most Japanese brands are "whisky," while Irish and American are "whiskey." To some extent, this is also an indicator of distilling method and types of grain used, but national origin is the overriding factor. For example, McCarthy's Oregon Single Malt is made in the (Scottish) Islay tradition from Scottish barley, but because it's distilled in Oregon, it's whiskey, not whisky. Conversely, if a Canadian distiller were to manufacture a bourbon-style product, it would probably be "whisky" purely by dint of being made in Canada. Of course, these considerations are not applicable to Corellian whiskey. GG9 spells it "whisky," and The Black Sands of Socorro only uses the plural; since there are evidently conflicting spellings, it might be best to stick to American spelling (i.e. "whiskey") since that is the Wookiepedia default. Is this line: "Cade Skywalker ordered a Corellian whiskey (along with Corellian ale) at Rik's Cantina in 137 ABY." really all that relevant? Why are we listing him and not everyone who has ever ordered a Corellian whiskey? lol, just seemed a bit silly and un-encyclopaedic. — beeurd ^talk 11:10, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
