Talk:Curved-hilt lightsaber
Back to page
"curved hilts allowed more spinning action during blade-to-blade duels than straight-hilted lightsabers." I don't think that's true at all, I'd be interested in seeing some citations. Curved hilts are likely more related to the pistol-grip of fencing weapons, allowing a lot more precision in directing the point of the blade, since the movement of the wrist comes more easily than the movement of the arm/elbow.

Curve-hilted lightsaber
Edit
So does anybody still use this type of lightsaber any more?
"Yes they do Darth Nihilus Count Dooku Asajj Ventress Darth Maul (Curve Hilt in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (video game) Only)
Appearances
Edit
Wouldn't the Tales of the Jedi comics qualify as the first appearance of this type of hilt, as they were published almost ten years before AOTC came out. Jensaarai 03:17, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes.—Tommy9281

Name
Edit
Isn't it referred to as a dueling lightsaber in most publications?---RCKTalk 04:00, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- What most publications? I can only think of Jedi Academy Training Manual. MauserComlink 04:09, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
Crosscurrent
Edit
Why is Crosscurrent down twice in the appearances? I've heard that there is flitting in time, so is that a possible reason? Darth Mondrak 15:30, June 24, 2010 (UTC)
Darth Nihilus?
Edit
It says in the infobox to the side of the page that Darth Nihilus wielded a curved-hilt lightsaber, but this image, which is identified as Nihilus's lightsaber on his page, clearly is not curved. Any objections to taking his name off the list? Darth Adonis 03:25, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
- I'm taking his name off the list. If anyone can furnish a credible source that overrides the image in canon, I'll gladly reverse the change. Darth Adonis 16:27, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
