From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.
Just a note, Obi-Wan appears prominently in the final chapter of the epilogue. Therefore, should he not be changed from being 'Mentioned Only'

[edit] Dramatis Personae
I've started editing the dramatis personae, locations, etc in, but this is being done as I'm reading it, so it may be a little short/inaccurate for a while, but obviously it'll be on target by the time I get to the end of the book.
If there is anyone who has read this book who can add or correct as I'm doing it, it would be much appreciated. - User:NBRBH - 19th June 2006
VERSION - Currently covers Chapters 1-30 (inclusive), and many thanks to Kwenn for additional items. NBRBH 07:59, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

I managed to briefly read this book. One or two titbits of information which I can remember roughly, but which I request someone with the book to verify, and which i think establish important information.
- A direct quote from Darth Plagueis
- Apparently Grievous was reconstructed a decade before Vader, setting down that event to 29 BBY
- A new quote from Darth Bane
- Information on the exact construction, and failings of, Vader's suit.

More info, from Palpatine's thoughts in Chapter 21:
- Palpatine did not foresee Anakin's fall on Mustafar - so it seems he never intended to make Anakin purposely weak to better control him.
- Palpatine worked 'for over a decade' prior to RotS on converting Anakin to the dark side.
- Palpatine feared that, had Anakin died from his defeat on Mustafar, he would have had to "discover a way to compel midi-chlorians to do his bidding, and bring into being one as powerful as Anakin". Seems like Palpatine doesn't know how to create life after all: another source that goes against speculation that it was Palpatine who created Anakin.
- For thousands of years, Jedi and Sith had pursued the power to 'survive death', though none had succeeded (seems to imply a different sort of ability than the Force-ghosting of Exar, Ulic and co). "The most powerful of the ancient Sith Lords had known the secret, but it had been lost or, rather, misplaced". Wonder just which ancient Sith knew of this? Palpatine also adds that now he's in control of the galaxy, he will be able to unlock the mystery of this ability.
- Yikes! Palpatine deliberately brought Anakin and Padmé together in AotC, partly to sway the Military Creation Act in his favor, and also to provide temptation for Anakin. With their marriage, Palpatine knew Anakin's relationship would provide the means for his conversion.
- Palpatine was indeed exaggerating with his promise to save Padmé from death. The text mentions Anakin's visions of her death were heightened by her pregnancy, and also of their growing distance during the time of Outer Rim Sieges. While there's no mention on whether Palpatine had anything to do with Anakin's visions, he may have deliberately kept Anakin and Padmé apart to foster such thoughts.
- Palpatine deliberately sent Anakin to the Jedi Temple (instead of clones) to seal Padmé's fate - knowing she would never accept Anakin's new point-of-view.
- Palpatine would not have been surprised if Vader had tried to kill him if he defeated Obi-Wan on Mustafar. He wants to cultivate Vader's dark powers, even at his own peril.

[edit] Book Set Up
I was recently reading the book, and I noticed that if it were made into a film, it would be a lot like a TV miniseries. Sort of like the Battlestar Galactica miniseries. Good book, but probably long movie. Anyone agree?... user:Darth Vatrir
- I disagree. I've written a novel and several screenplays. There's SO much inner dialogue and memory in this novel that just couldn't be translated. The basic story and adventure is pretty straight foward and could easily be 2 hours. —Unsigned comment by 24.176.220.218 (talk • contribs).
- Well, when I was reading the book, I thought all the inner dialogue and memory could be shown as flashbacks and monologue. So if it included all that, in my opinion, it wouldn't be bad but it would be long. Darth Vatrir (pronounced Va-Trear)
- I'm one of those people who believe in literal translation of book-to-movie. Darth Vatrir

[edit] Publisher's summary
Is there a reason the publisher's summary was removed for this book? I've re-added it for now. It was decided in a previous discussion that these summaries were OK, as long as it was stated that it was the "Publisher's" summary. --Xwing328(Talk) 01:41, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
