Talk:Dark Nest I: The Joiner King

[edit] Summary
Since there is apparently a plot summary of the Joiner King online at http://p098.ezboard.com/funjoefrm81.showMessage?topicID=41.topic , should there be an update or should we wait? Demented Smiloid 14:54, 21 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- How accurate is that, though? --Imp 14:56, 21 Jul 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Is Dark Nest part of the New Jedi Order series or not?
The article claims that it is. However, both the article for and the book The Unifying Force claim that The Unifying Force is the last book in the New Jedi Order series. Which is it? Will 17:46, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Its part of the New Jedi Order era not the actual series. Jedi Dude 17:54, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
It is awfully confusing. It would help if it was either both or neither. Will 17:57, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry if there is any confusion. The New Jedi Order series encompasses from Vector Prime to The Unifying Force, and will have a table at the bottom of the page with links to all the books in the series. The New Jedi Order Era consists of from approximately the Yuuzhan Vong invasion up through Betrayal so far. Atarumaster88 18:00, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
The New Jedi Order (Series) is Vector Prime through to The Unifying Force and the New Jedi Order (Era) is Vector Prime through to The Unifying Force plus the Dark Nest Trilogy. Elephanto 18:04, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yep, Betrayel is the Lecacy era Jedi Dude 18:07, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- We can simplify this: The NJO was mainly focused on the Vong invasion. The Killik Trilogy is about a year after. We can assume it isn't exactly in the NJO, but something like the Thrawn Duology. TheNewDarthMalevlent(The Sith shall rise to power!) 23:34, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, it's part of the NJO era. Lucasfilm has specifically said so, and unless they change their minds, we won't change it here. —Xwing328(Talk) 14:45, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- What does Lucasfilm have to do with the books? This was entirely upon the many authors who wrote the Vong series. The Vong invasion is labeled New Jedi Order until it reaches the Killiks, labeled The Swarm War. I don't see them as the same era. - Lucasfilm and Lucas Licensing are the ones who contracted the authors to write these books. Not just anyone can write an "official" Star Wars novel. They, working alongside the team from Del Rey, decided what to do with these series. You may be interested in List of publishing eras to see how these eras work. —Xwing328(Talk) 15:19, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I got curious about this, and it made me send a letter to LucasBooks. They responded with saying, "eras and the timelines in the books get confusing, understand that. The New Jedi Order era is specifically focused on the Yuuzhan Vong, yet the Killiks would be stranded without an era. Technically, they have nothing to do with the New Jedi Order. They are partially, however truly, in the New Jedi Order era. Thanks for expressing your concern, not many pay attention to the eras and their positions." Does this work? We've all fallen under a slight misunderstanding. I say we throw this in the river or whatever to analogy is. TheNewDarthMalevlent(The Sith shall rise to power!) 03:17, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
