Lightning from Luke? Guwaah?--SparqMan 14:10, 19 Jul 2005 (UTC)

  • The Jedi are allowed to use it know because of their "New" understanding of The Force. I know it's a cliche, but I have a bad feeling about this. --User:SFH
    • I also thought it was weird, but when I read the first chapter of The Joiner King, it said that the Light Side and Dark Side had been brought together during and after the book "The Unifying Force" (After all, the title says it all in this case). Hopefully, after the end of the Dark Nest Trilogy, some Imperial warlord will come out of the Unknown Regions with Dark Jedi and a superweapon and "un-unify" the Force, thus putting it back to the way it was (and should be, in my opinion). Cmdr. J. Nebulax 22:36, 14 Aug 2005 (UTC)
      • It won't be a Warlord--they're gone. But I've heard that Lumiya will be making a return very soon. But I don't know if it will de-unify the Force. The Expanded Universe we all grew up with is gone forever--we can thank the New Jedi Order series for that. --User:SFH
        • Well, on my page, it says I'm working on a book, possibly a trilogy, involving a new Imperial warlord and a "new" Dark Side. But, of course, when I get finished with it, I doubt it will ever be published. And where did you hear that about Lumiya? Cmdr. J. Nebulax 11:43, 15 Aug 2005 (UTC)
        • I read it on NJO encyclopedia. It's a website that you can access on the page on the New Jedi Order article. Lumiya's return is supposed to take place in the upcoming Legacy of the Force series. As for your trilogy, keep up the good fight. --User:SFH

LomiEdit

Female human mostly? Good God, what else is she missing? Is she more insect than human? -- SFH 14:51, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)

  • Luke gets a brief glimpse of Lomi in The Unseen Queen, and let's just say she won't be winning Miss Galaxy any time soon - Kwenn

Katarn was the first force lightning user. I believe the EU canon supports it.

Release dateEdit

When is this getting released? The date keeps changing from November 29 to December 27. -- SFH 02:35, 1 Nov 2005 (UTC)

  • It's out. Check Amazon - Kwenn

Continuity Edit

Well, a lot of continuity in this book. Emala, Sligh and Grees from Tatooine Ghost, a bunch of other references, I mean sometimes there is just too much continuity in one book sometimes.

ParanoiaEdit

Does anyone else get a strong feeling of paranoia when reading this book? Tenel Ka's keeping secrets from the other Jedi, Luke's trying to trick the other masters, Ghent is bugging Luke's room, Omas gets suspicious if the Jedi even breath, and Jacen's lying about everything! These people put the Bothans to shame. -- SFH 00:56, 4 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Yeah it is a little strange. Star Wars Guy 02:06, 4 Jan 2006 (UTC)

update Edit

much like my Rogue Planet or Republic Commando: Hard Contact page, i'm reading this book now and will begin to make major updates on this page, much in the style of my last book. if you want to help, i encourage it, jsut try to follow the format, i want to keep this "encyclopedia" format for every book

japanese cover artEdit

anybody know when we can expect this? i mean theforce.net appears to have given up on these. you guys are the only place i seem to find new ones nowadays. Darth Depressis

luke using force lightning?????? Edit

dudes its weird how Luke is using force lightning but didn't the Sith used it only???-Boba fett 32 16:41, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Actually, if you read this novel, Luke never used Force lightning—it was just a thing to put on the cover of the book. However, regarding how the Jedi could use Force lightning at all—well, there is a technique mastered known as the Electric Judgment. I haven't studied up on it to clear up what the difference is between Electric Judgment and the typical Force lightning used by the likes of Palpatine and other dark siders. And that whole thing mentioned about how the Jedi could use the darker powers in the Force because of the Unifying Force theory—well, officially, that was scrapped by the time of this novel right when Luke declared himself the Grand Master of the Order and told every Jedi that if they couldn't hold to their responsibilities as apprentices, Knights, or Masters, they had to leave the Order. But unofficially, you could say that the Unifying Force theory was dropped right back in Dark Nest I: The Joiner King— right in the beginning to be specific. Just as Troy Denning had made it clear in Tahiri Veila's part of the prologue of that book that even after five to six years, the Yuuzhan Vong still hadn't really changed their ways on Zonama Sekot, Denning also had the Unifying Force theory scrapped in Jacen Solo's part of the prologue. Denning would back this up throughout the novel and in Dark Nest II: The Unseen Queen until he fully cemented it when Luke gathered up the Jedi for the Conclave on Ossus.
