...is this page really necessary? At least give it a better name than "Dark side death explosion" - in addition, I can't really agree with the claim that Kreia "exploded" within the Trayus Core after non-canonically being beaten by the Exile. Yes Traya's fall was accompanied by an explosion. It may be an alternative ending depending upon the actions of the player, but it does happen at least on some occasions.

Do we even know for certain that Palpatine exploded? It is commonly thought by many that he hit a reactor or something, not that dark side energy released from him when he died. The only canon dark sider who is known to have actually exploded is Joruus C'boath.Mad Jax 01:42, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

As I recall, The Last Command said that Joruus C'baoth exploded "in the same way that the Emperor did" or something to that effect. And it's quite clear that C'baoth exploded with dark side energy, so therefore the Emperor did too. Of course, whether or not this is still canon or not is a different matter. Relevant passages from The New Essential Chronology: "Vader grabbed the energy-seething Palpatine and hurled him into the Death Star rector shaft, where the evil leader was disintegrated. The shock waves of dark power mortally wounded Vader.", and "Mara Jade ended the combat by killing the Luuke clone. C'baoth, in a fit of rage, collapsed the chamber's ceiling, but Mara skewered him cleanly through the torso.". Merged with Dark side of the Force Edit

Since the Trash Compactor discussion seemed to favor merging it with the Dark side article, I went ahead and did that. I also added some more info about how some dark side users "dissolve" into dark side energy (e.g. Nihilus and Jerec). I think that's a much better place than this article. Not all dark sideEdit

In The Force Unleashed, we see Shaak Ti and Kazdan Paratus both let out a burst of energy of some kind when they died, and neither of them were dark-siders. -MPK ^{(MPK's Talk Page)} 17:06, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Spirit? Edit

From Dark Empire endnotes 2: "But in that moment [when killed by Vader], when flashing blue energy rushed from exploded flesh, the emperor entered a bodyless transitional state. As conscious Dark Force he was translated across the Galaxy..." I think the "dark side burst" is some kind of unstable Force Spirit used in Transfer essence. I think if a strong Lightsider is cut down, his "burst" becomes one with the Force, if he is unable to become a Force Spirit. But if a strong Darksider is cut down, he goes to Chaos, if he doesn't find any body to transfer. So maybe this should be merget with Transfer Essence or Force Spirit.
