[edit] Body destroyed in core?

I am curious about this because I read the novelization and don't recall this getting mentioned. The film shows too little to determine if that happened (it's certainly a possibility) and besides, I was under the impression that Maul's corpse identification was part of the Jedi's investigation into his being a Sith. Also, the Infinities comics with him returning as a cyborg don't make any sense if this is true. At any rate, I guess my question is whether there is a source for this because it confuses rather than clarifies for this to be canon.Mad Jax 23:42, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

I am 34 and in my many years of geekdom i have learned one thing. Non canon is always stupid and just gets dumber the longer its dragged on.

Since nobody came to defend the wording, I went ahead and edited it out because "destroyed" has multiple interpretations (ie just "dead") and if it does in fact mean that, it was a redundancy. I did so because I feel the character of Maul deserves a featured article quality entry and this is one step toward that goal.Mad Jax 09:01, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

• The first usage of the term was in the A New Hope novel, used in reference to Vader. The Databank and Dark Side Sourcebook are two sources for Maul off the top of my head. -- AdmirableAckbar ^(Talk) 16:59, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

There are many things from the Expanded Universe that don't make it into the movies, which is why they are relegated to e-canon status. The Maul clone is just one of them.Mad Jax 08:11, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

i have some empire strikes back infinities and they dont follow the story line so why should mauls? i think that part should be taken out because other books under the same name dont go to plot the books show an alternate story line where luke dies on hoth.
