Conflicting Canon
Edit
I understand the source for the history of Darth Sion as a Sith Marauder under Exar Kun comes from Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide, but in KOTOR 2 when speaking with Kreia about the origin of Darth Sion, Kreia specifically says that Darth Sion, "like the others, was spawned by the horrors of the Mandalorian Wars."
The history provided in the Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide directly contradicts this. As the character was created for the game, and the Campaign Guide was basically people creating filler for those game characters, it seems clear to me that the Campaign Guide serves as inferior canon to the game. As such, the history of Darth Sion from the campaign guide should be considered incorrect at least in so far as it directly contradicts what little history was revealed in the KOTOR game.
This would mean regardless of anything else, any history of Darth Sion that contradicts his being "spawned by the horrors of the Mandalorian Wars" is incorrect. As such, the possible history of Darth Sion as Lucien is more probable than the possible history of the campaign guide as the history of Lucien did not contradict any pre-existing history of Darth Sion. —Unsigned comment by 24.148.83.98 (talk • contribs).
As Kreia's comment on Sion does not conflict with his history as a marauder for Exar Kun. What Kreia meant was that Sion became the walking corpse sith lord becomes of his experience in the war. Thus the war "gave birth" to it. Think of Anakin Skywalker, after he became Vader no longer went by his given name to signify his embrace of the darkside. Skywalker like Sion went through a rebirth when they became Sith lords and the only way to trully be reborn is to kill one's own self and form a new identity.--Darkseid253 07:43, December 14, 2011 (UTC)
- Where canon sources conflict Wookieepedia tends to go with what is stated in the most recent source. Therefore, if the game and the campaign guide conflict on this matter, the campaign guide must take precedence in this article. 144.173.5.196 08:40, December 14, 2011 (UTC)
is it just me, or does Sion have a slight scottish accent in KoTor II? Should this be posted in the 'Behind the Scenes' topic?
