Talk:Death Star plans

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

BUt Dooku could of killed Yoda, whick would kill anakin and Obi-Wan and still get away! He didn't know about Anakin's corruption, so that proves it: The best leaders can still be the biggest twits!

I don't know quite what to make of this, or do with it--The Erl of the Death Star plans talk What I do 02:12, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

    • Talk about the history of the plans - the original ideas as seen in the pt and various books. talk about the many people who stole the various bits and how all those differnt interpretations are weaved together. etc HavetStorm 20:00, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Farlander and AX-235

I just did a major revision because the previous version only mentioned the events depicted in Star Wars Battlefront II.

  • I know next to nothing about Keyan Farlander and how he acquired his portion of the Death Star plans. I know only that the Databank article on the Death Star gives him shared credit with Kyle Katarn for recovering them. Our article here confirms that he finds the plans, but it does not detail how or when it happened. Since it was the first game out of the three, I placed its subsection before the others; I have no idea how the chronology really works. -BaronGrackle 15:34, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Star Wars: Battlefront II contradictions

  • The original text of the article here claims that the Rebel prisoners on the Death Star transmitted a copy of the plans to Polis Massa , and the Rebels on Polis Massa beamed this copy to the Tantive IV (this is confirmed by the Battle of Polis Massa, and it seems to make the most sense). However, the article for Death Star Uprising claims that the Rebel prisoners on the Death Star beamed plans to both Polis Massa and Tantive IV. It'd be fantastic if someone familiar with the game could clear this up; I left the contradiction in the article. -BaronGrackle 15:34, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
    • Someone took off the contradiction template, but the contradiction is still in the article. -BaronGrackle 16:47, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Toprawa's significance

    • I think it was just the Superlaser section plans stolen at toprawa. See the Havet Storm article. HavetStorm 18:44, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
      • Okay, I put that in, but you can edit it more if you care to (you did take him for your username, after all :-) ). And, while I moved Mission to Danuta back toward the top because of the order in the Operation Skyhook infobox, I left Battle of Toprawa at the bottom. Out of all the scenarios presented as to how the Death Star plans were acquired, this one seems to be the only one that can be described as a battle "victory" for the Rebels, so it surely must be the one referred to in the crawl of A New Hope, right? -BaronGrackle 16:47, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
        • Ok I changed it about a little bit to fit more accuratley. The page is looking good though.

==Import from Death Star I guess we should import "Skyhook" and "plans" information from the history section of that article, and clean it up. It was written before this article existed, so we should limit the 'information pollution'. MoffRebus 01:01, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Where were the Plans first seen?

Upon reading this article, I noticed that the first apperence of the Plans was episode 4. I was under the impression that they were seen in episode 2 on Geonosis. Count Dooku took the plans from Poogle the Lesser and stated that they'd be safer with his master. I won't change this text incase I have failed to see something, but I strongly suggest that this matter is resolved. Just incase somebody didn't notice, this page is about the Plans, not the Death Star. If you were talking about the Death Star, it appeared in episode 3, so I feel that there is definatly something wrong here. Also - sorry about the spelling - I'm awful! SecondSight 15:40, 11 August 2006

  • You're correct: but in our jargon, "First appearance" refers to the earliest published/screened appearance: in other words, the first appearance in the real world. Thus, since ANH came out in 1977, long before AOTC, Rebel Dawn, Dark Forces, etc., etc., that counts as the first appearance. —Silly Dan (talk) 15:05, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Ok I see. I just saw the picture on the article page of the plans in AOTC and saw this as a mistake. Thanks for clearing that up! SecondSight 16:10, 11 August 2006

[edit] Death Star II

So, is this article the place to write about the Death Star II plans? So far only "many Bothan spies" and Dash Rendar have a claim to stealing that set. -BaronGrackle 07:57, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Solo

EaW retells the story, with Han Solo this time. Please someone incorporate? MoffRebus 00:20, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

  • What? You're kidding me. Empire at War tells the story with Han Solo stealing the plans? Could you clarify? Man, this page is already muddled terribly in the "Rebel Alliance Acquires the Plans" section, and now we have to mess with Han Solo (who's supposed to not have any love for the Rebellion yet) before we even start on Rianna Saren. Are you sure? -BaronGrackle 21:05, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
    • That contradicts established canon and doesn't make sense. Solo didn't even know about the Death Star until ANH. If Lethal Alliance further complicates things, I'm going to scream.--Lord OblivionSith holocron 21:24, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
      • From what I hear, Han is contracted by the Rebellion to steal information related to the Death Star. This would probably be around the same time he was working with Bria. (The Ylesia raid was also part of the plan to uncover more about the Death Star, don't forget.) I don't think Han actually finds out about what the information is in the game. Don't have it yet though, so I can't confirm. TalonCard 04:36, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
        • The Ylesia raid article doesn't talk about anything other than freeing fugitives, so if it did involve the Death Star we should probably add that to the article, as well as this one. -BaronGrackle 09:39, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
          • The funds that the Rebels under Theran obtained were used to plant agents on Raltiir...they were the ones who learned of the exact nature of the Death Star. TalonCard 22:12, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
            • The Empire at War information does not, in fact, contradict any other information. Han Solo is contacted to plant a tracking device/EMP in order to track an Imperial supply ship to a research station and sabotage it once it arrives, so that later Rebel teams can search the station for info. Han is never involved in the data recovery itself and has no idea what it's about (and expresses his desire not to find out and get more deeply involved). Moreover, Empire at War is much better about separating its Death Star plans from everyone else's -- we are *specifically told* that the information recovered from Corulag in the game is only sufficient to confirm the existence of the Death Star and its destructive capabilities. Mon Mothma tells us, though, that the Corulag data package contains no technical detail that reveals any weaknesses, and delegates Captain Antilles and Princess Leia to go searching for "more information" -- this is pretty clearly referring to Operation Skyhook, the Death Star Uprising, etc. (The only contradiction here is that Mon Mothma is portrayed as directly involved in Operation Skyhook -- sending Kyle Katarn his mission briefing directly, etc. -- whereas in the game you lose track of everything involving the Death Star until it destroys Alderaan. That's not enough to mark these operations as non-canon, though, in my mind.)71.105.16.98 21:05, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] behind the scenes

Since several years, the article mentions the Death Star novel and Lethal Alliance as possible (upcoming) sources concerning the fate of the Death Star plans. So far nobody with such knowledge has edited the article and the references remain there, expressing personal ignorance and vagueness. Can someone update them, or just delete them? MoffRebus 07:47, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Removed the novel reference, which had been updated to say that the novel resolved no issues. Also removed the [i]Lethal Alliance[/i] reference; some user added a little information in the article, but unfortunately the game seems to have been so unpopular (no Youtube uploaded videos of cutscenes or online discussion of storyline specifics that I found) that it's difficult to verify without buying the game myself. Which I'm not ready to do. -BaronGrackle 21:33, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Iblis, Organa, and Mothma on the Death Star

I haven't read or played [i]The Force Unleashed[/i] yet, but I understand that it has Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and Garm Bel Iblis imprisoned on the Death Star. Does this retcon the fact that they learned about the weapon through rumors and information (changing the direction of the "Rumors Confirmed" section in this article)? Or, were they imprisoned after having learned of the weapon? -BaronGrackle 15:53, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

  • That confused me too. They weren't imprisoned after having learned of it, because TFU takes place in 2 BBY, while Empire at War, which describes the discovery is set in 1 BBY. But there might be one possible explanation. Maybe they didn't see the Death Star itself while being transported. They were just transported to Emperor's watchtower on the DS, and didn't know exactly there they were, and I doubt that the Emperor would say: "Look, It's called the Death Star, It can destroy a planet and I will use it against you.". That just leaves one problem- Juno. In the graphic novel(set in 2 BBY) she says: "We scoured the Outer Rim, but eventually Starkiller found the Emperor's new weapon- the Death Star."And she said it while talking with Bail Organa. The only possible explanation for that is that the Rebels considered the information from former Imperial pilot, well, doubtful and decided to prove it. [edit] Mission to Danuta

I put expand template to that section. There is no mention how Death Star plans appeared on Danuta location, which is in Death Star novel I'm reading now.--Jedi Marty 14:21, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Could you add it yourself later? thanks MoffRebus 16:36, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
