Talk:Death stick

Why is it called mild? Sounds pretty deadly to me. JustinGann 21:48, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- because as far as what it does to the user during the high, it's mild. minor hallucination (bright colours, slight distortion of reality, euphoria) are not really an 'intense' drug. regardless, it shouldn't be called a narcotic at any rate. narcotics are typically derived from poppy plants (opium, heroin, etc). it's a misnomer perpetuated by general ignorance of drug classification. if anything in star wars is a narcotic, it would be things like sweetblossom. Devastating?
Edit
It says that "Death sticks were a devastating factor in Balosar society" (factor?), but then says "Balosars' immunity to toxins allowed them to consume them without much effect other than the life-long addiction." That doesn't sound particularly devastating. What am I missing? Are they incredibly expensive, hence life-long addiction results in financial ruin?
- Yeah...and they would do basically anything to get them (and deathsticks are rare)––hence more financial ruin/corruption. You have a very good point, though. ––TessyWawa
Uncited Force use by Cade
Edit
"Cade Skywalker used death sticks to ease his emotional pain and to keep his famous ancestor from speaking to him from beyond the grave, although he used force healing to keep the death sticks from causing any damage to his lifespan." Granted, everything before the comma is true, it seems like someone added the second half of the sentence on a whim, and there's no citations for this. Should it be removed or can someone confirm that Cade ever said he used the Force to reduce the harmful effects? Seems like a bad addition, even the word "Force" isn't capitalized. - I believe its given somewhere in the later issues and I'll check on that. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:37, July 14, 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. At the very least, the phrase will need some major grammatical overhaul. Kjølen 07:44, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
