Talk:Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor
Back to page
I have a feeling that "Delta 2" isn't the actual name of the starfighter; I think it was named such in the Hasbro presentation because they considered the Delta-7 the "Delta 1". Probably a good idea to keep on the lookout for any name changes. Grand Moff Tranner

- Is it just me, or is Plo Koon's Delta-7B (seen in the Clone Wars Visual Guide) his fighter from ROTS?JustinGann 17:07, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- It would appear so, and the text makes it seem like it's meant to be, but he flies a regular Delta-7 in ROTS if I remember correctly. Grand Moff Tranner

- Indeed he does, look at the astromech. The people who double-check the cartoon's animations must've been asleep at the wheel to let this happen. Oh well, at least the retcon will be interesting 76.171.55.249 17:53, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Number of lasers
Edit
I get that the established canon is twin lasers, but in some of the shots in The Clone Wars animation show 4. Can somebody explain this?--The Snypr 13:35, November 22, 2010 (UTC)
- sighs*, just like the Delta-7 Aethersprite, the Delta-7B has TWO twin-laser-cannons (meaning, one ontop, one on the bottom. on each side; ie. the left side and the right side). look at the Delta-7 Aethersprite when you play "Star Wars Rogue Squadron: Rebel Strike" [for GameCube] next time (after you get the Delta-7 Aethersprite). when you're in the hangar bay selecting your fighter craft, run to the Delta-7 until you're next to it, and then switch to the "first-person" view. then try to look as close to under the floating Delta-7 as you can. you will see that on each side of the ship, there are two blaster cannons, but there's one on the top and one at the bottom, making the total of laser cannon [nozzles] a total of 4. basically, hence, two TWIN-laser-cannons.

Edit
I think the last edit was unnecessary and made it worse. "a position flush with the bow-ward direction of the cockpit", I don't even know what that means. Sounds like fancy writing for the sake of being fancy. "Just in front of the cockpit" is better. Also, I'm not sure the R-series astromech droid needs to be specified, it's possible any astromech droid could be used.
"(This also solved a problem seen in the earlier Delta-7 model: that, because of the Delta-7's design and its hull's thinness, a full-size astromech socket wouldn't fit on either side of the starfighter)" was changed to "(this also solved a major design misstep in the fundamental Delta-7 design, in that a full R-unit would not fit either side of the vessel)."
Again, I think that's a lot worse. First, it doesn't mention the thinness of the hull. Also, I'm not sure the original Delta 7 not being able to fit a full astromech droid was a "major design misstep". They just wanted the ship profile to be as small as possible, full sized astromech droid be damned. They didn't care, a truncated astromech droid was adequate for ship operations.
I had a strong desire to simply revert the edit, but I thought I'd discuss here to be polite.71.227.40.49 20:48, December 2, 2010 (UTC)

I'd like you to know that I am proud of my extended vocabulary, and if you don't know what I meant, then visit my talk page and we can discuss it further. Thanks. MillieMuddFan67 21:56, December 2, 2010 (UTC)
I have reviewed some elements of the text, and agree that it needs a revert. But I'm still proud of my vocab, bud. MillieMuddFan67 21:59, December 2, 2010 (UTC)
