[edit] To add

I didn't have time to format these sources for the list:

The Rebel Opposition
The Phantom Affair
Battleground Tatooine
The Warrior Princess
Requiem For A Rogue
In The Empire's Service
The Making Of Baron Fel
Family Ties
Masquerade
Mandatory Retirement

Also, the currently listed Empire comics could be listed as Darklighter Part 1, Part 2...etc. Those titles are the front-page subtitles. --SparqMan 03:50, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Expansion

It would be great if someone could expand on the list of battles I tossed together to sum up his time in Rogue Squadron. His efforts at Jabiim with Wedge should be mentioned too (haven't read Empire 30-32 yet, but if someone adds those details, please add it to the sources and appearances lists), but I wasn't exactly sure on their place in the timeline. --SparqMan 03:50, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] RPG Backstory

I've included Hobbie's backstory from the Movie Trilogy Sourcebook, editing out the sections that dismiss these events. They can fit with the Darklighter comics; it just requires a "certain point of view".  ;) TalonCard 18:34, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Adumar and possibly Isard's Revenge

Pardon me, but I do believe that Hobbie was present in Star Wars: X-wing, books 8 and 9. 9 for sure. I haven't read the books in about a year, but someone with more recent knowledge might want to take a look at it, otherwise I'll come back and do it later.

  • Yes, Isard's Revenge (Bk 8) and Starfighters of Adumar (Bk 9) are already listed under the Appearances. What else needs to be done with these? -Finlayson 15:40, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hobbie/ Hoth/ Kamikaze

Reading this, what is the source for the claim that Hobbie actually did ram Veers' AT-AT and both Hobbie and Veers somehow miraculously survived? Vymer 09:02, 17 October 2006 (PDT)

[edit] Hobbie

It should be said that in X-Wing:Rogue Squadron, he was only mentioned. Also, Hobbie was in Timothy Zahn's The Last Command. Unsigned comment by 67.84.168.2 (talk • contribs).

[edit] Appearances

Many of his appearances were left out, such as the above-mentioned Last Command. I know he was also in The Rebel Opposition and the Phantom Affair. That's all I've read from the Rogue Squadron comics, so I don't know if there's any more.--Hobbie 00:19, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

  • He's in Phantom Affair bit not Rebel Opposition. I'll add it. -Fnlayson 06:07, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Iron Fist

I don't know who keeps taking it off his appearance list, but Hobbie was in Iron Fist. If you don't believe me, check page 114 (paperback anyway). He appears in a briefing in chapter 8. Hobbie even has a few lines.--Hobbie 18:35, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] legacy

I read from a fansite (written in 2005) that Hobbie is supposed to be in the series. I've only read part of Betrayal(I know, I'm way behind), but have seen no mention of him in the book or on any of the pages about the books. Does anyone know if he was scrapped from the storyline, he won't appear until late in the series, or if the info I got was just wrong?--Hobbie 00:29, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

  • He hasn't appeared in the first 4 novels. I don't know about what they might do with him. Most likely it would be in an Allston book, imo. -Fnlayson 02:23, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
  • There is a quote on Wedge Antilles' wookieepedia page attributed to Hobbie...its source is listed as Betrayal. That would seem to indicate his appearance in that book, but I don't remember it any more than you do.
    • Yes, I just read the quote. It says Betrayal, but it's wrong. That quote was from Starfighters of Adumar. I would change it, but I'm not sure how to.--Hobbie 19:00, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
    • I guess this is the quote you mean.
"Great, who brought the old Wedge out of retirement?"
―Derek "Hobbie" Klivian[src]

If so, Starfighters is not it. The retirement could only mean the Dark Tide (early NJO) books or Betrayal. -Fnlayson 19:23, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

      • Yeah, I might be wrong about the book. It might not even had been Hobbie, it could have been Janson. But I do remember somebody-either Hobbie or Janson- saying it. It was not meant literally. It was a joke. It was either in SOA or one of Allston's other X-wing books.--Hobbie 17:34, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
        • Yep, that's probably it. I didn't see any likely places for the quote in Betrayal. -Fnlayson 00:08, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
          • Yeah, I already found it. It made it easy to find because it was at the end of the chapter, instead of stuck in the middle of a page. It was Hobbie in SOA. I already changed it on Wedge's site.--Hobbie 17:13, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] huh?

How can you say what happens in the movies isn't canon?

From wikipedia: In a 2001 "Ask the Jedi Council" response by Steve Sansweet (director of fan relations) and Chris Cerasi (an editor for Lucas Books at the time), it was stated that:

"When it comes to absolute canon, the real story of Star Wars, you must turn

to the films themselves — and only the films."

I think your boy Derek is dead.

  • Hobbie's death was never in the movie. It was an an earlier version of the script, and thus mentioned in the novelization. It was taken out of the final film. --JMM 22:56, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Red 4 at Endor?

Is there any proof Hobbie flew as Red 4 in the Battle of Endor? 68.9.60.123 23:07, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I want to hear more about his genitals

okay, not really, that was just too ridiculous a header to pass up. Don't mind me.

Having not read Empire: Darklighter, is there really an implication that Hobbie was wounded in the "thigh," as the euphemism used to go? If so, which issue, and what exactly does Biggs say? --Buttbutt 05:36, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

  • "Sorry! I'm still getting used to the mechno arm! Strong, isn't it?" "You could arm-wrestle a Wookiee with that thing. Not that it makes up for losing your . . . uh, if only we had the ships. Refitting these TIEs with hyperdrives is the messiest patch-up I've ever seen." The implication, I trust, is obvious. Havac 06:10, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
    • Obvious enough, I suppose. Thank you! Although the argument could easily be made that the back half of Biggs' sentence was going to be nothing saucier than "...your real arm," there's no harm in having a little exaggerated fun with the source material, right? --Buttbutt 06:52, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
