Talk:Destruction of Taris
Back to page
Er, how do we know there were other ships in the fleet? The Spire could just as easily have been transporting Bastila et al. alone. --Fade 15:34, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- Unless some evidence is found for this being a full-scale battle, would anyone object to me shifting this over to Attack on Endar Spire per Attack on Tantive IV (seems to have been its thematic inspiration)?. --Fade 15:22, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
- I should point out that, while the opening scrawl calls the Spire (and whatever may have accompanied it) a 'Jedi battle fleet', it also suggest it intentionally engaged the Sith, and that Malak is Revan's 'last surviving apprentice'...--Fade 15:28, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Destruction of Taris
Edit
A single Cruiser destroys an entire planet/ecumenopolis... how plausible could this be? anybody else thinks there is some plot mistake here? MoffRebus 11:08, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- Who says there was only one vessel in orbit of Taris? Jasca Ducato Sith Council 11:26, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- During the whole first chapter of the game, all the cutscenes show only Malak's cruiser both orbiting and afterwards bombarding Taris MoffRebus 11:33, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- So… Taris is a planet afterall. Their could easily have been other Sith vessels in orbit of the planet, but out of the range of cameras. Jasca Ducato Sith Council 18:37, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- Still. The way the camera shows the space above Taris, Lev was left to destroy alone its own whole hemisphere of Taris, and the rest of the fleet was left with the other hemisphere. MoffRebus 22:59, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- During the escape sequence, when the player has to destroy a bunch of Sith fighters using the Ebon Hawk's guns, more than one Sith vessel is visible.–Sentry 23:13, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Complete rewrite
Edit
I am working on a complete rewrite of the article to include the destruction of the Taris rather than the attack on the Endar Spire. That information had been moved completely to a new article. The rewrite should not take more than a few days. Master Aban Fiolli (Alpheridies University ComNet)

- I am almost done with the rewrite portion. There's a few more details and prose that needs to be ironed out, but its getting there. I should have the new images up within a couple of days. Sorry for the inconvenience this might cause for people. Master Aban Fiolli (Alpheridies University ComNet)

- I have finished rewriting, adding pictures to and sourcing the article. I have decided to nominate it to be a good article. Master Aban Fiolli (Alpheridies University ComNet)

Battle of Taris
Edit
- Can we really consider this to be a battle? I mean only one side fought. I think we should call this the Destruction of Taris. After all, the Endar Spire battle was several days before, and the following starfighter battle can hardly be considered a battle. I don't want to move the article right away, so I'll wait for a response.--Vaklu 17:03, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Since the cities are eventually rebuilt from the attack i think it should be called Devastation of Taris, but i agree that this was not a Battle. Steves490 20:39, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- I also agree it should be changed. Every time I've heard about it, its refered to as the Destruction of Taris.
- I think it should be changed to the "Sacking of Taris", as it was a sacking (much like the one in the upcoming swtor). Better than "Battle of" anyway ░▒▓ Alex | Talk ▓▒░ 18:49, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
