Talk:Elders (Naboo)

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

By Elders, do you mean the stone statues that the Gungans went to during the Battle of Naboo? Good God, how can you even think that they are the Rakata? They look nothing like them. -- SFH 19:56, 1 Jan 2006 (UTC)

  • No, I mean those who made them MoffRebus 23:20, 1 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • Then wouldn't the statues be of the Elders? That is what I meant. -- SFH 23:22, 1 Jan 2006 (UTC)
      • No, the sources say that the Elders are reptilian. MoffRebus 00:03, 2 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • And what are those sources? -- SFH 00:09, 2 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • See Naboo under 'sources'. I don't know which of them. MoffRebus 00:28, 2 Jan 2006 (UTC)

I added mention of the Elders from "Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Episode I". It wasn't a very detailed mention, but I believe it was the first mention of them. - RogueJedi86

Why are we assuming that the elders are the Rakata? They look nothing like them, and why would the Rakata build statues of another species? The "giant heads" are likely a different people all together. --Pdixie 20:42, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

  • They bear a closer resemblance to the gigantic inhabitants of Boz Pity.Sochwa 23:34, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Please look above discussion. MoffRebus 09:32, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
  • None of the sources mention anything about the Elders being Reptilian. Where does this come from? Please post page number. QuentinGeorge 10:03, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
  • Well if what the article says is true in that the Elders were reptilian and aggressive then I agree that they were probably Rakata.
  • The Rakata were amphibian not reptilian or even reptomammalian.Sochwa 23:27, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
  • By that logic, since Luke is a human and Jedi he is Obi-Wan Kenobi. It's a huge galaxy, probably containing many "reptillian and aggressive" species. The giant stone heads on Naboo DO NOT resemble the Rakata. We all liked KOTOR but that's no reason to insert them everywhere in SW.
    • The Elders ARE NOT the giant stone heads because they are not reptillian, while the Elders are. MoffRebus 22:10, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
    • They were probably of the gods of the elders, not the actual people. Note that the Egyptian God Anubis has the head of a Jackel, but we know that Egyptians did not have Jackel heads. Note that although these elders were not Rakata, Rakata could still have invaded Naboo during the construction of the Star Forge. And the Rakatan are a reptilian species.--Logan Felipe 02:05, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
    • The statues ARE the Elders. The Elders are said to have been humanoid, but with reptilian eyes, and the statues do have slitted eyes, not unlike those of Neimoidians.JustinGann 23:57, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
  • The Rakata are amphibians and although there can be reptilian species that can live on both dry land and in the water, generally amphibian imply a creature like a frog or a salamander.Sochwa 23:25, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Why would gungans call a species they fought with gods and think their buildings were sacred.141.155.156.54 20:29, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
