It probably has more to do with the droids strength and the strong phrik alloy the Electrostaff are made out of and not the energy the weapons produce when it comes to the smashing stuff, the paralyse of limbs comes from the electric pulse the ends generate (like the blue line of electricity a taser produces). - "Awar 10:17, 25 February 2007 (UTC)".
Read the damn article! It is made from a lightsaber proof metal, why are the ends electrified than you may ask to stun the wielder's opnate so they cant fight back as well as they could normally.—Unsigned comment byDarth Awar (talk • contribs).
The metal is called phrik, if I remember correctly, and if not odds are it's cortosis. Phrik was used later in Dark Troopers as well, and a cortosis weave is used in vibroblades to strengthen them to be able to parry lightsabers. The metal is phrik, or at least the article says it is. I fixed the unsigned comments, let me know if I made a mistake. --Jedimca0(Do or Do Not, There is No Try) 09:33, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
In Star Wars Clone Wars, Season 2, Episode 9 - Grievous Intrigue, at 13:25, you can see Obi-Wan using one while dueling Grievous, however Grievous slices both ends off with no difficulty at all. Prior to that, we only see Kenobi blocking strikes with his saber which is connecting on the electrified portion not the metal staff... Anyone have an explanation? Yeah I know it's probably just a mistake, I just was wondering if there had been a way of explaining it instead of just "they made a mistake"Thaxos 06:23, January 3, 2010 (UTC)
Could be a mistake, or it could be that since phrik is lightsaber resistant rather than lightsaber proof, Grievous's physical strength was sufficient to cut through the staff. — Red XIV(talk) 03:08, January 11, 2010 (UTC)
In one of the Force Unleashed Trailers, I saw a Stormtrooper with an electrostaff like weapon. Is that an electrostaff? -- Grievous7318 20:39, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Does anyone know where some good electrostaff sounds can be found on the Net ? Lightsaber ones are very common, but I don't know where to look for electrostaff ones. Thanks —Unsigned comment by82.123.136.24 (talk • contribs).
When Grievous dueled Obi-Wan in Grievous Intrigue, the Jedi briefly used a stolen electrostaff after destroying all of the general's guards; however, Grievous soon cut off both ends of the staff. I thought these were lightsaber-resistant? How did he do that?? --Mateo22Contact 23:02, January 15, 2010 (UTC)
Magic. Perhaps the {{talkheader}} clarifies it. Xd1358Talk 20:11, January 21, 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I'm NOT starting a speculative or irrelevant conversation. I would just like to know how this could have happened when the staffs are clearly listed as lightsaber-resistant multiple times. These things I am posting are ALL for the purpose of updating information and effectively improving the articles, and it escapes me how such an intent conflicts with the talkheader. If someone would care to ANSWER my question with a valid reference, as this is an occurence worth mentioning, then we can find whether it was an error or some technique Grievous used. Thank you... --Mateo22Contact 20:40, January 21, 2010 (UTC)
Well?? How are we going to mention this in the article?? --Mateo22Contact 19:01, February 26, 2010 (UTC)
Most likely, as was said above, it could have been pure strength or perhaps there was a weak spot on the staff. It should probably be mentioned in the Behind the Scenes section. Hntr.peters 18:16, April 9, 2010 (UTC)
In the previews for TCW S4 it shows electrostaffs (wielded by Dooku's droids) a different color, should this be mentioned?
And also, on there clone cards on SW.com it says that Satine's guards used a kind of electrostaff, it didn't glow at all activated time, but it sure did spark on contact with B2s in "Voyage of Temptation", can someone confirm/discard my ... Facts here? Thanks, Skyguy007 12:21, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
Well, the TCW Season Four info can be disregarded as long as it is not released, since we don't have information on whether they are electrostaffs or not, and speculation is forbidden.—TK-999(Rise of the Empire) 12:25, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
Skguy007, please take a look at several of ourpolicies that detail what is happening here. If an official source indicates that an electrostaff is used by another being, you may update the article, and properly source it, without having to create a discussion topic in the talk page and then argue. Furthermore, your signature does violates our signature policy, since you're covering your name with a different one. JangFett(Talk) 02:32, April 20, 2011 (UTC)
