Talk:Emperor's Royal Guard TIE/In starfighter
Back to page
Is this a TIE/I? I know it's referred to as a "TIE Interceptor", but surely this is a variant model, and thus would have a different designation? - Kwenn 18:08, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- This is canon? -- SFH 18:10, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yep. Check the source; it's from the official Sony/Galaxies site - Kwenn 18:15, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- I don't see why the Royal Guards can't have their own fighters.--Darth Oblivion 03:15, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think that was in question, Darth Oblivion. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) (Data file)

- Should we mention that this is sometimes nicknamed as a Royal Guard Interceptor? DAWUSS 01:17, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- No, because that's all in the title. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
12:12, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- It's a little less technical. I don't hear too many people calling this the "Emperor's Royal Guard TIE/In Starfighter" but instead an abbreviated "Royal Guard Interceptor" or even shorter, "RGI". DAWUSS 17:52, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- It depends on who's abbreviating it. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- "Imperial Guard TIE Interceptor" is the name given on the SWG site so wouldn't that be the canon name? 71.113.180.189 06:11, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- It's a canon name. The correct designation for the TIE Interceptor is "TIE/In starfighter", and the correct name for the Imperial Guards are Emperor's Royal Guards. Since we deal with technical terms here, "Emperor's Royal Guard TIE/In starfighter" would be the title. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Actually, the Imperial Guard is another name for the Coruscant Guard - either the original name or a name applied to CGs stationed on other core worlds. This is not to confuse with the Imperial Royal Guard. Tulon 15:20, 24 May 2007
- "Imperial Guard" is more commonly used for the Emperor's Royal Guard rather than the Coruscant Guard. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

Design Modifications
Edit
I just stumbled across this article by way of the Tie Interceptor discussion. I noticed this version seemes to have smaller extentions out from the regular Wing Arrays. Did this variation show up before Galaxies? I've never played it and yet I mannaged to accidentally design a Fanon Imperial Guard specific Interceptor that has the same sort of mini wing extentions.Defender_16
- Yes, I'm pretty sure that's the Galaxies Royal Guard TIE Interceptor. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

Which one is better?
Edit
TIE Defender or this Royal Guard TIE/In starfighter?Jasonfu 06:36, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- Emperor's Royal Guard TIE/In starfighter, since the TIE Defender is a completely different ship. Actually, wait, what do you mean by "which one is better"?-- I need a name (Complain here) 22:22, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- I believe he wonders which is the better in-universe combat vessel. However, Jasonfu, talk pages are for discussing changes to the article, not the content of the article itself. Apoc 17:24, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- TIE Defender hands down, have you looked at the stats for that thing? It has four times the shielding of the Royal Guard TIE/In, and the TIE Defender has a speed of 155 MGLT, while still having four laser cannons, two ion cannons, and warhead launchers.Nebulon B freak 19:43, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- By looks: Emperor's Royal Guard TIE/In starfighter, but stat-wise, definitely the TIE Defender. josh, the usernameless wookieepedian

Relation to Red TIE Fighter
Edit
Red TIE Fighters were in Death Star Pirates (also canon). Should we mention the relations of the two? —DarthtylerTalk 02:53, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Also should this be included in the {{TIE}} template?—DarthtylerTalk 02:54, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- 1) No, as they don't have anything to do with each other. 2) I suppose so. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

Hyperdrive
Edit
What class hyperdrive is standard?--Xinder 08:23, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
not positive, check out "The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels" by Bill Smith, might have it in there, don't know off the top of my head. josh, the usernameless wookieepedian

Hey, I like to make maps for Star wars: Empire at War, and, in the map editor for Forces of Corruption, I think I found that there is, in the game files, a fighter called the 'Royal Interceptor', which looks basically like this fighter (Red TIE Interceptor). However, my game is modded, so, if this was investigated, this might be worth mentioning. IceBite, the Cryos Specter/Never give in, never surrender. 03:18, January 9, 2012 (UTC)
