GrievousEdit

Why is Grievous listed here? He didn't participate in the battle. - Sikon 09:39, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Grievous was at the battle, but not seen in the AOTC. The Republic didn't find out about him, because none of the Jedi he fought lived to tell the tale. JimRaynor55 09:42, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)
The source for this is the Republic Commando game. (But I can't recall him fighting any Jedi at that point). QuentinGeorge 09:55, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I thought that the first time the player in Republic Commando encounters General Grievous was on Kashyyyk. -- Falmarin 19:37, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)
His ship flies past at the end of the Sun Fac mission. I think he's also mentioned in Labyrinth of Evil. He fights Republic forces in the catacombs - Kwenn
Yeah, the first time you see him was on Kashyyyk. He was never ever seen on Geonosis. Not even with the Seperatist leaders. --DarthCow--Talk| Email
Oh, and for the ship, you haven't played Battlefront II, have you? Check out the CIS Strike Bomber. It is the exact same model as Grevious'. If you do play BF2, you can fly in it as a Seperatist in any space battle. --DarthCow--Talk| Email

Who was the Clone trooper commander of Republic forces at the Battle of Geonosis? -- Eddyward Telerionus 21:22, 24 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Separatist commandersEdit

Should we list General Grievous and Sev'rance Tann as commanders of the Separatist forces in this article? -- SFH 05:00, 22 Oct 2005 (UTC)

  • no, they're not even in the same episodes. And anyway, Grevous wasn't even there, so he couldn't be commanding it Wildfire 01:31, 8 May 2007
  • Grievous was there he just wasn't in the movie. --Ant rocks 09 01:20, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Shouldnt there be a cross by Cavik Toth since he died?74.137.144.82 23:56, December 21, 2009 (UTC)

Sections Pertaining to specific people Edit

  • Due to the fact that so many videogames, comics, books, etc. tell of different events that took place in this one battle (and we aren't fully sure of the order that they took place in), should there be different sections that tell of specific people's accounts of the battle for example one section is Anakin and Obi-Wan chasing and dueling Dooku, while another would be Mace (based on what he did in the CW game and Battlefront II), and Delta Squad (from Rep. Commando). DarthMaul431 00:19, 26 Dec 2005 (UTC)
  • That would be extremely difficult. See, if you blend it all together, it's a lot easier. But really, that would take forever and be hard to understand I believe, although you are entitled to your own opinion. --DarthCow--Talk| Email

Droid Army Edit

The numbers of Droids seem far to high to be real is there a source?User:Lucky (talk)

  • Yep, in Inside the Worlds of Attack of the Clones.--Rune Haako 04:10, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
  • The clones were victorious despite the droids' superior numbers because of their air superiority and the surprise nature of the attack. They also managed to jam the Confederacy's communications, and I'm guessing the different factions of the Confederacy had not learned effective tactics for coordinating their different units' attacks. Nevertheless, Nute Gunray's comments such as "The Jedi have amassed a huge army" and "there are too many of them" don't seem consistent when his forces outnumber them nearly 10 to 1.

Jedi Circle Edit

When the Jedi are forming the circle, does anyone know if this is right (going right from Mace):

* Mace Windu
* Obi-Wan Kenobi
* Kit Fisto
* Unknown
* Shaak Ti
* Tarados Gon
* Saesee Tiin
* Sora Bulq
* Roth-del Masona
* Bultar Swan
* Stass Allie
* Agen Kolar
* Luminara Unduli
* Joclad Danva
* Anakin Skywalker
* Padmé
* Aayla Secura also present

Unknown is killed whilst forming the circle. Later on, Joclad is on the floor between Anakin and Agen, as if dead. But when the gunships land, he is back up again. Any ideas? Mastermundi 14:39, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Perhaps blown off his feet by an explosion or something and then got up?
  • Also Ki-Adi-Mundi was there and like Secura he was brought to the circle by Geonsions.User:admiral James Kaizer.

Total number of Jedi participated Edit

  • May I ask what is the source of "212" Jedi participated in the battle? Insider the worlds of AOTC I guess (In my memory it seemed that the book only address the numbers of clones participated)? Darth Kevinmhk 03:37, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Editing Edit

Shall I delete "Qi Zhu" from the Separatist list of participants. I've been told that the name "Qi Zhu" is fanon. Also, I don't think Toonbuck Toora was there. Mastermundi 15:02, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Total Number of AcclamatorsEdit

I know that the AotC ITW mentions that 12 Acclamators were deployed to the battlefields of Geonosis, which is sufficient to transport the 192,000 Clone Infantry and 8,000 clone vehicle crew for the 200,000 clones present at the ground battle. However, the ITW also says there were 2160 AT-TE walkers. Here lies the rub. 12 Acclamators can only transport 576 AT-TEs. In order to transport 2160 AT-TEs 45 Acclamators are needed. However there is not necesarily a discrepancy. The 12 Acclamators number is likely the number of Accs that landed to disembark clones, while the remaining Acclamators launched their LAAT/i and AT-TEs in low orbit, and remained in space to engage the TF Battleships. Is this enough evidence to at least warrant an edit in the data box as far as the nuber of Accs goes?--Jerry 15:37, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Well, I edited it in any case, and since there's been no dissent, I assume it's appropriate.--Jerry 00:27, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
    • I think there is quite a lot of discrepancies surrounding the battle. Another examle being the eight corps, which do not add up to under 200,000 clones. A possible answer for theis is the fact that AotC ITW bases its' information on the in universe HoloNet News sources. This could explain the inexact numbers relating to the battle. As we all know media sources are not the most accurate.Ciphe 22:01, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

Purposefully lostEdit

Is it possible that Dooku allowed the Confederacy to purposefully lose the Battle? I was reading Labyrinth of Evil, and I remember reading that the Battle of Geonosis had further bound the various commercial guilds to the Separatists. Could Dooku have purposefully let the Republic win the Battle so that the guilds would be further bound to the Separatists? -- SFH 04:31, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

  • I was under the impression that the timely arrival of Clone Army, the retreat of Dooku, the Dooku vs Ani/Ben/Yoda part, etc etc --- all were according to the plan of Sidious. Darth Kevinmhk 04:21, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Republic leaders Edit

Now we had one for the Separatists. I think we have too many listed for the Republic. What do you think? - TopAce 18:35, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

501st at Geonosis? Edit

It says in the "strength" section that the 501st Legion fought at Geonosis. But the 501st wouldn't be formed until later in the war (at least a year into it according to the wookiepedia page). - Toasty McGrath 22:00, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

  • 501st was indeed on Geonosis, at least, all the clones who became 501st was on Geonosis, just like every other clones. Darth Kevinmhk 02:30, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
    • 501st was indeed on Geonosis, at least, all the clones who became 501st was on Geonosis, just like every other clones. Not true, possibly a cadre for the 501st did serve on Geonosis, but the Legion did not.Ciphe 22:03, July 14, 2010 (UTC)
  • Bullshit. In Battlefront II it says that the 501st was participating according to the anonymous Clone Veteran.--AnyGuy 16:51, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

Cavik Toths Fleet? Edit

How come the space battle in Jedi Starfighter is not mentioned here? -Malak 06:06, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Toonbuck Toora? Edit

Since she was replaced by Rogwa Wodrata was she still there?--Rune Haako 03:04, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

arena beasts Edit

Should the nexu, acklay and reek should be included under 'Strength'? The Acklay is still alive during the combat between the jedi and battle droids. The Reek is also, it even is seen charging down battle droids. The nexu would depend on when the battle actually starts

Alternatively, as the animals don't attack combatants from the Republic exclusively, should they be included under another heading?

Unknown shipEdit

This ship is seen at Geonosis in Republic Commando, I do not know what class it is, but it is not one of those listed under Strengths for either the Republic or CIS. Any help ID'ing this ship would be appreciated. A knight shall come 04:11, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Some sort of dropship? A stylised version of an Acclamator? I don't know...Unit 8311 16:29, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
    • It really looks like an acclamator, it has that type of bridge. Maybe a command ship, or a personal one? Try looking at the site where you got it, maybe there's some info there... Wildfire 02:02, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
    • The picture's title is CIS Ship so I think that is a stylized Geonosian fleet. But I have no clue.
      • Materials are consistent with Geonosian Starfighters as is colour, Poggle the Lessar's ship maybe?
        • The fact that it is not fired upon by the gunships, even just a strafe as they fly past, leads me to think that it is some form of Republic scout ship maybe? Possibly with camouflaging technology? But then this is just anoher idea, we will probably never knowCiphe 22:08, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

Agen Kolar pictureEdit

Should we really be using this image in the article? It's clearly a production image. -- I need a name (Complain here) 15:59, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Perhaps if the lightsabre blade was actually CGI-processed, it might be acceptable. Unit 8311 16:24, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Sabaoth Destroyers Edit

There were three Sabaoth Destroyers at Geonosis in Jedi Starfighter. Isn't that a good enough source to add a 3 to the infobox for the destroyers?

  • Thank you. 00:08, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Merging Edit

Hi, i'm just trying to help, but i've changed the arena battle part to merge this article with the Mission to Geonosis article. I won't delete the Mission article until everyone thinks that my editing is fairly good. I've mostly taken it word-for-word out of the Mission article, but edited it to my own style. If you have any problems with my merging, please edit to your heart's content Wildfire 01:39, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

These two are completely diffrent and should not be merged. --Editor45 12:59, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

I think that these should be merged since these basically occur at the same time (LAAT Gunships come in during the Mission to Geonosis.)

I support a merge as The Battle of Geonosis can be construded as the jedi's fight at Geonosis and having seperate articles makes finding information harder, which is one of the most important things for a wiki not to do. One thing I do notice happens a lot is people support these things but do nothing so I sugest we get a ruling within a weekSith Penguin Lord 02:23, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

GAR Numbers Edit

The republic forces are stated as being 192,000 strong. although if all Acclamators, Gunships (both types), AT-TEs (with 2 squads) and SPHA-Ts (with 3 squads)are crewed by clones along with 8 full corps the republic should have a strength of 397,032 clones. This would support Nute Gunray's statement that the Republic ammased a huge army. This supports his statement because that would have reduced the Seperatist advantage from 10 to 1 to 3 to 1. It is stated that for every clone that dies upto 200 droids are destroyed.

All Accs had clone crews up until atleast 1 year after Geonosis.If there was only the 12 Accs with the aforementioned vehicles excluding their squads, the republic should have 327,732 clones. To have 192,000 the republic had to have 12 Accs, 5 corps 1 slightly under strenght. With all 5 corps at full strenght and the 12 Accs the republic would have had 192,720 clones. Ciphe 02:05, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Just to add to that post, even the 5 corps, understrength or not, would not be transportable in only 12 Acclamators. Also y calculations above don't take into account officers at all.Ciphe 22:11, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

Blue and Green Edit

Who is that jedi with 1 blue and 1 green lighsaber? Meesa yoda 00:32, 14 August 2007 (UTC) Meesa yoda 00:32, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Space battle Edit

What information do we have about the space battle over Geonosis? I noticed that this article mentions stuff about Republic frigates and space bombs but I haven't seen any source to confirm this yet Lalala la 06:32, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Ki-Adi-Mundi with Green Lightsaber? Edit

During the Battle of Geonosis, Ki-Adi-Mundi was first scene with a blue lightsabaer, but close after the clones arrive, he is seen with a green lightsaber, then he has a blue lightsaber. It's so confusing! Haco 22:25 30, September 2007

  • And certainly fun for everyone claiming the movies happened exactly the way they are shown. Saesee Tiin also have a blue lightsaber in one shot, and Sora Bulq's switch from blue to green and back again. Makashi Flourish 16:20, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Participants Edit

The images in the Participants section are all over the place. One even blocks another out! We need to fix this now.--The All-knowing Sith'ari 15:18, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Lightsaber Colours Edit

Is there a canon reason why a lot of the Jedi at the battle use lightsabers with a different colour to the ones they usually use? i.e. From an In-Universe perspective, why do they all have blue and green lightsabers (excluding Mace Windu) when in other sources, other colours are fairly common? 12:14, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Becouse the only colors lucus wanted for the jedi were blue and green. Mace got a purple becouse Jackson asked for one.Admiral James Kaizer 20:29, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
    • That's an 'Out of Universe' explanation, which I understand, but there has to be an "In-Universe" explanation, that's what I'm interested in finding out
  • It's possible that Jedi with other lightsaber colors were present, but only Jedi with blue or green lightsabers are shown in the movie (except Windu). That's purely speculation on my part, though. Hk37 03:52, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

General Tann Edit

Shouldn't Tann be listed as a Commander it says on her own wookieepedia page that she is a General so if Greivious is listed so should she.76.105.233.104 22:09, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Way less amout of ships Edit

First thing is that there had to be more than 400 LAAT/c to carry all those 2,160 AT-TE. Also if they go all they way bck to kamino to get more the Battle would be over 192,000 clone troopers 10,000 clone commandos and only 1,600 LAAT/i gunships (that only carry 34 men (including crew) how can it hold 202,000 troopers. T-573 19:37, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

  • What? VT-16 19:40, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

I"m saying that it should be changed but the admin won't LET ME!!!!!!!!!! T-573 19:41, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

  • What should be changed? Ever thought that the transports might go back and forth between the battlefield and the assault ships? VT-16 20:00, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

I thought that but the assault ships can't have all thoughs ships filled with 2160 AT-TE without 2160 LAAT/c or it would talk 100-1000 ship to carry them T-573 15:40, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

  • OK, a couple of things: that info is properly sourced, so unless you've got info that contradicts those sources, you can't change it (even if you do, you should make a note in the BTS section explaining the discrepancy between sources). Also, 45 Acclamators (the total number that were at the battle) would indeed carry 2,160 AT-TE walkers, and I fail to see why you would think that 2,160 LAAT/c gunships would be needed to deploy those AT-TEs. You'd only need that many if you were deploying all of the walkers at the same time. The LAAT/c was designed to quickly transport a vehicle to the front lines, and then return to a staging area. Once it's back at the staging area, why would there be any sort of problem with making another trip to deploy another walker? The same goes for the LAAT/i gunships deploying troops (and don't forget that there are also troops aboard the AT-TEs and SPHAs that are being deployed). DolukTalk 16:07, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

I like that but also the space in the star ships would fill up with at-te. A star ship can only have 30 ships so with all the ships and AT-TE. T-573 20:38, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Jedi numbersEdit

Is there actually a source for 212 Jedi present and 179 killed at this battle? Makashi Flourish 16:28, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

I don't know of one. The film makes it pretty clear that there were only 16 Jedi left in the inner circle before the arrival of the Clones.

Cody? Edit

I very well remember a commander { Yoda called him a commander } with yoda. It was yellow and I suspect it was an earlier form of Cody --star11scream 12:22, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

  • No, Cody wasn't never there, because in TCW mini logo Star Wars: The Clone Wars – "Landing at Point Rain", he said, that he hadn't fight in the First Battle.--84.133.189.67 08:34, April 5, 2010 (UTC)
    • Also he (Yoda's liason officer) wore yellow like every other commander at the battle. Besides, Cody's colour of choice is orange not yellow.Ciphe 22:17, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

Rex Edit

On the survivor list, it says that Captain Rex fought in the battle. In WHAT comic, book, whatever, does it say that Rex was in the Battle of Geonosis?!?! --Jedijake123 23:41, November 11, 2009 (UTC)

  • There isn't one, but maybe everyone assumes that he's so experienced from the start of the series that he had to be there. I say that we should take it out of there. VhettSkirata Mando'ade 00:04, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
  • He's right, it's from the Decoded Episodes. VhettSkirata Mando'ade 02:00, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

SHould it be the first battle?Edit

I think we should change this name to the first battle of Geonosis because we got the second one. Unsigned comment by Brianb014 (talk • contribs).

  • In some cases (such as this), the multitude of official sources for the name outweigh the pursuit of factual correctness. Has any source referred to this as the "First Battle of Geonosis"? No, and there isn't that much of a difference. CC7567 (talk) 04:49, December 24, 2009 (UTC)

Battlefront Elite Squad Edit
