"Unique Form of Combat?" Edit

  • Force Warriors were a sect composed of Jedi and other Force users who practiced a unique form of unarmed combat.

What exactly is this Form of combat? Is it a variation of the Broken Gate Jedi fighting system, or a rarer Artform? Anyone got any sources to determine this??? --The truth hurts... 22:41, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Force Warrior Edit

This is actually the name of the Prestige Class from the d20 game, but I felt it was an interesting enough application to merit an inclusion on its own, and tried to describe its mechanical aspects as in-universe as I could. Basically, by focusing on Martial Arts, you got a few defensive abilities and a LOT of extra damage, something like double the damage that anyone else could do with martial arts in-game if you mastered it. Plus it just looked cool, like what Mace Windu did during the Battle of Dantooine, though I don't think he's actually a practitioner. -LightWarden 01:48, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Is what you wrote in the source or did you make it up? - We don need no steenkin fanon HavetStorm 19:48, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
  • Not fanon, from pages 17 and 18 of Power of the Jedi. Class abilities: increased unarmed damage, uncanny dodge (allows you to dodge even when taken by surprise, and allows you to fight multiple opponents without them gaining a bonus for it), defensive roll (lets you reduce the damage from a potentially lethal attack), and bonus feats (used for improving your martial arts skills by picking up styles, or focusing on special attacks such as tripping or disarming). Fun stuff. -LightWarden 22:41, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Also, I'm pretty sure this doesn't count for scholarly purposes, but if you load up Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and type in the code "iknowkungfu", it will enable an unarmed mode, complete with fun grabs and throws.

Organization or rankEdit

As a prestige class, are these simply another variation of Jedi, or a separate sub-organization?DarthMRN 02:35, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

  • In game terms, this is a prestige class (as mentioned above). In-universe, I believe it refers to a Jedi who's turned his focus to unarmed combat and sought to surpass mortal capabilities. Considering how rare it is in the age of the lightsaber, I'm of the belief that it's a distinction that only a Force Warrior would use, since I don't think that the rest of the Jedi Order pays much attention to anything but the results.--LightWarden 19:39, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
