In the new background book: Book of Sith by Daniel Wallace, the issue of Bane's teacher using the term Vaapad for Form VII is actually brought up. One of the annotations to that part of the book, by Quinlan Vos, actually notes that Mace and Bane's teacher used the same name, as says "Could Mace be a Sith? Nah. Still, I'll look into it."

This may imply that while Drew Karpyshyn thought he made an error in Path of Destruction, that book reference is being confirmed as correct. --hamish 86.177.20.98 08:24, April 28, 2012 (UTC)

  • This is a pretty significant retcon, and at the very least, deserves mention in the Behind the Scenes section. I find it quite ridiculous that a typo has resulted in this much retconning, first with Leland Chee stating that Juyo and Vaapad were used interchangably, now this. Before too long, we may need a whole section devoted to "The Vaapad Retcons". Sorry to go off on a tangent, but please tell me I'm not alone in this. Jensaarai (talk) 09:42, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
  • You're not alone here, man. I say we put in Kas'im's version of Vaapad into play. Lord KOT (talk) 18:09, July 17, 2014 (UTC)
