Are they real?Edit

I think both Justin and I have strayed into the realm of original research on the Frost Sprites and Ice Heads. In my opinion, they're spiritual beings, not real, and only exist in the mythology if the Ewoks. This is based on the fact that the Snow King is an Ewok god, and the Frost Sprites and Ice Heads are his servants. Also, the word "sprite" means spirit.

However, the Frost Sprites and Ice Heads are depicted as sentient, corporeal beings in the cartoon, so Justin has justification for his view that they are sentient species, as well. Perhaps we should say in the article that it is unclear whether they were real or mythological. — SavageBob 13:25, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

• • The cartoons depict them as real. I realize "sprite" means spirit. However, why does that mean they are imaginary? Obi-Wan's spirit in ESB was very real. The SW Universe is full of very real supernatural beings, from Star Dragons to Tilotny throwing shapes to Force Spirits to Force Demons and Nightmare Demons. The canon depicts them as real; the idea they are Ewok mythology is a fan-theory that lacks canon proof. All events in Ewoks cartoons have always been referred to in all canon sources as actually happening. Yes, the Snow King is VIEWED by the Ewoks as a diving being, but in reality he is probably just a Force-sensitive being. The magic of Logray and Characl has been canonically explained as the Force, and there is no reason to think the same is not true of other magicians on Endor.JustinGann 13:32, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
    • So there's a Force-sensitive being on Endor who controls the weather with a magic scepter? I think that EU writers are trying to write off a lot of the goofier stuff on the Ewoks cartoon as Ewok mythology, which is why we are seeing references to Ewok deities who were depicted as real in the cartoon. I've tried for a compromise in the article that fits both the deity and corporeal viewpoint. — SavageBob 13:40, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
