Vague referrence needs clarificationEdit

"The Marines possibly inspired the overall versatility of the functionally diverse Stormtrooper Corps."

While I think this sentence does a good job of linking both trilogies together, "overall versatility" is rather vague. Is this versatility referring to the ability of both units to project power over great astrographical distances? Is this versatility referring to the units' heavy equippment? Does it refer to the superior quality of training present in both units? The term "functionally" makes me think that it is referring to the diverse battlefields the marines were employed in, but I cannot be sure. I think weaving the marines into the stormtroopers is a good decision, but it either needs to be qualified or not mentioned at all. As I did not write this section, I have no idea what the author had in mind. Cheers. 19:41, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I think that the Galactic Clone Marines were the predecessors of the Snowtroopers. -- Eddyward Telerionus 14:42, 28 Jul 2005 (UTC)

  • I think Commander Keller's troops (as seen in an upcoming Republic issue) are more proto-snowtrooper types than Bacara's Nova Corps. Remember, Mygeeto is an ash world, not a snow planet - Kwenn
    • Well, they both are, really. Just because Mygeeto is an ash-covered world doesn't mean that the clone troopers there don't have prototype-snowtrooper armor. Plus, this is before the snowtroopers. Those clones weren't even called "snowtroopers". So, Bacara's and Keller's troops are both wearing proto-snowtrooper armor. Cmdr. J. • I think the Clone cold assault troopers are the real precusor the the Rebellion era Snowtrooper. The fact the Galactic Marines ware similer armor to the snowtroopers (and the Clone cold assault troopers for that matter) does not implictly suggest they are the forrunners to the Snowtrooper. The Snowtroopers are a unit intended to fight in arctic and sub-arctic conditions. The Galactic Marines are intended to fight in a number of hostile conditions, including snow/low tempatures, but are not specilized for this one task. Jad Jermain
        • I think we know that they weren't pre-snowtroopers now. Admiral J. Nebulax 00:22, 16 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Move Edit

Move to Galactic Marine? --SparqMan 03:17, 14 Oct 2005 (UTC)

  • Well, "Galactic Marines" was the actual name of the military unit (after it was renamed from the 21st Nova Corps), wasn't it? If that's the case, then I think it should stay here. Kuralyov 03:20, 14 Oct 2005 (UTC)
    • Either keep it here or move it to 21st Nova Corps. Cmdr. J. Nebulax 20:24, 14 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • And probably not worth a page on the soldiers themselves, right?. --SparqMan 22:02, 14 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • No. The way I think of it, the page on the Legion talks not only about the legion itself, but on the clone troopers it is made up of. Cmdr. J. Nebulax 22:59, 14 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • The MOS of Wookieepedia states that article titles are to be singular, not plural. The Galactic marines were a specialized division of clone troopers, just like that Clone cold assault troopers were and note that their article title is singular. - JMAS 00:46, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Saleucami Edit

Where did the Marines appear on Saleucami? And if they did, shouldn't we add a picture of their appearance there?--CT-5619 helmet comlink 22:39, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

I'd love to know this too. I'd also love to know who their commander (as direct as possible)was at Saleucami. What source has the Galactic Marines at Saleucami? --Icepirate 05:13, June 28, 2011 (UTC)

armor Edit

so, anybody out there know were to get the armor, or desigens?

and what is the metal made out of, or is it only synthmesh?

we need more pictures, people! please?

TCWCG Image & Galactic Marine Design Edit

!!warning, spoiler!! I was just wondering: when does the Galactic Marine armor has been designed (in-universe of course)? TCWCG shows a picture of Nahdar Vebb healing a Galactic Marine. As Vebb die during TCW, it's obviously showing a pre-Phase II clone trooper scene. But the Galactic Marine in this pic has the exact same Phase II design as in ROTS (see the eyes). So, is it a mistake, or does the Galactic Marine had this design from the begining? -- Kaal 21:48, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

I don't think all the images in the campaign guides are canon. Like Darth Bandon fights Juhani with a single lightsaber in the KOTOR one. User:1705jallen

  • I think all the images of TCWCG are canon. (You can customize any lightsaber in the game and it is possible in-universe too.) Maybe Grievous' Lair is happening at the time of changing from Phase I to Phase II. Maybe the Marines had already changed to PII, but Nahdar's troops hadn't yet. It's just speculation, but it may be true, therefor there is now mistake.Darth Morrt 20:24, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Geonosis Edit

The troopers in second Battle of Geonosis wore specific armor. The ones that were fighting under general Ki-Adi-Mundi and his commander Jet(CC-1993). Jedi general Ki-Adi Mundi led Galactic Marines at the end of the Clone Wars but this unit could be it's direct predecessor? Unsigned comment by Ventilator86 (talk • contribs).
