Article?Edit

No pressure or anything, but is there any chance we'll see this returning soon, SparqMan? JSarek 22:34, 16 May 2005 (UTC)

  • Yup, I plan on finishing it up tonight. It's not as thorough as I wanted, as I'm in Boston for the summer and away from all sources, but it will at least provide a nice framework. --SparqMan 22:59, 16 May 2005 (UTC)
  • Status report? JSarek 19:03, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  • Where's the article? -- Riffsyphon1024 05:47, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  • Okay okay, there you go. I finally dug it up. Add and polish away. --SparqMan 06:02, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
    • Ah, welcome back, Garm!  ;-) jSarek 06:18, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Appearances Edit

Is that really all he's bene in? It seems like he's been in so much more. Kuralyov 18:51, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

No EaW reference? Edit

No reference to the Gargantuan? Or is it out of canon? Jorrel Fraajic 19:03, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Age contradiction Edit

The article says Bel Iblis was "approximately seventy" when he split with the New Republic during the Vong war; but the birthdate given puts him at around eighty. Which is correct? Unsigned comment by 70.101.173.190 (talk • contribs).

Why was Bel Iblis left out of Ep III? Edit

Surely he would have been part of the meetings that were dropped from the movie. Will (talk -- contribs) 03:20, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

  • He was a character created by Zahn, not Lucas, and exclusive to the EU. Lucas has on occasion allowed EU elements to sneak into the movies, but I wasn't expecting Garm to make an appearance, in the movie or in the deleted scenes. --Danik Kreldin 03:26, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
  • The article makes out like Bel Iblis joined the others later, like closer to when his family got killed. -Fnlayson 03:40, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
  • He was mentioned in the novelization, does that count? -- SFH 04:38, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Just being mentioned would not be enough. So he attended council meetings. That would not establish him as part of the Alliance. Will (talk -- contribs) 07:23, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
  • It's already been pointed out that his non-existence is that Lucas is not even aware the character exists. The EU has put in a "fix" by having Corellia declare neutrality during the war, Bel Iblis remove his senatorial delegation, and Fang Zar acting as his representative in the meetings in Episode III. Garm after the fall of Coruscant Edit

I have a question about where Garm's command was after the fall of Coruscant. In "Destiny's Way", he is said to be commanding from Fondor. However, in "Force Heritic III : Reunion" Fondor is liberated from the Yuuzhan Vong, and on this Wiki it is stated that he was at Talaan (or Tallaan, however you spell it). I do know that they're both in the Tapani Sector.

Which is it? Was "destiny's Way" in error? Was there a retcon?

Thanks in advance. Rush2112 03:58, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

  1. Garm was at Taalan and Fondor, the final battle szene says, that he takes his fleets from Taalan, but he was at Fondor too, Luke visited him there. Both's right.
  2. Fondor is liberated in "The Final Prophecy", not "Reunion" ;-).

I know no retcon but that's a good question for Leeland Chee. *g* Janeway 18:43, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Garm's chronology? Edit

According to the Corellian Resistance entry, Bel Iblis led the CR from 'the early years of the New Order'. According to this entry, Bel Iblis didn't begin the CR movement until after his family's death (0 BBY). According to the Solo novels, the Corellian Resistance was active at least since around 5-4 BBY.

When did Corellian Resistance start, then? Which of these is right? Which is wrong? Obal 14:44, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

  • But that just adds to the confusion. Obviously, when he was taken to the Death Star by Vader in 2 BBY, informations about the Death Star's existence wouldn't be news to him at the time of the Anchoron events. Which means the incident on Anchoron must've happened before 2 BBY. Is their any official source supporting this reshuffling of events? And by the way, where's the current date of the Anchoron events comming from, anyway? --Bender235 02:52, January 16, 2011 (UTC)
  • I just got my hands on the Force Unleashed Campaign guide, there I can confirm it retcons the events of Anchoron to happen before 2 BBY. Now this affects a lot of articles. Not only Bel Iblis', but also Anchoron, Armand Isard, Hal Horn, Moranda Savich, Ysanne Isard, Arrianya Bel Iblis Irenez, and a number of others. There are even some where it gets tricky. Seb Arkos was sent to Kessel where he met Booster Terrik (who had been there since 2 BBY), later escaped and went into hiding on Darkknell, and obviously appears in Interlude at Darkknell. So when did the Anchoron events occur? 0 BBY can't be true, but neither can 2 BBY. If it was 3-4 BBY, then a number of other events (e.g., Terrik's capture) have to be moved back as well. --Bender235 17:13, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

UnionEdit

Doesn't he appear in Union? Janeway 18:19, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

New Image Edit

Do we have confirmation that this new image is Bel Iblis? I admit it's highly likely (and of course hope it's true), but we've been kriffed by LucasArts on canon before. jSarek 03:51, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

  • It's not explicitly said in the video, but it's a guy who looks like Bel Iblis sitting with Mon Mothma and Bail Organa while they're talking about us seeing the creation of the Rebellion, so I think it's a safe bet. - Lord Hydronium 04:19, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
    • You have more faith in LucasArts than I do. :-p jSarek 04:24, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
      • Were this Sony, yes, it could in fact be Latara, but as it is, it would be quite a leap to imagine it being anyone but Garm. And besides, he's already part of the TFU Miniatures set. (Linky) It's ol' Garm, all right. -- Ozzel 04:39, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Peregrine: Katana Fleet or not? Edit

Hello everyone, I just noticed that this article says the Peregrine, Garm's flagship, was present under Garm's command at the Katana Fleet operation. However, the article specific to the Peregrine says this ship was actually part of the Katana Fleet (and thereby could not be under Garm's command at the same battle). Anyone know who's right and who's wrong? Darth Revan. 09:58, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Darth Revan.

  • Neither. The ships from Garm's forces, including the Peregrine, were taken from the Katana fleet several years before the battle. The discovery that Garm had Katana fleet ships is part of what triggered the hunt for them in the first place. jSarek 11:40, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

What makes up Garm Bel Iblis's fleet? Edit

In the Corellian Treaty, Garm Bel Iblis was to supply the starships. Without the Mon Calamari Star Cruisers and starfighters from sources like the Incom Corporation, what ships made up Garm Bel Iblis's fleet? ––Bron Hañda 01:54, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

  • Per the TFU Databank, Bel Iblis had a considerable personal fleet during the Clone Wars. Presumably this made up most or all of the ships he provided to the Rebellion. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 20:24, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
