Gektl or Mandalorian (Species or Culture)?
Edit
This article states that "when Gektls showed their teeth in what appeared to be a smile, the expression was considered to be a challenge." I'm currently reading "Star Wars: The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance, and the passage goes as follows:
"Stryver showed teeth in a way that might have been mistaken for a smile. "In my culture, this expression is considered a challenge." "
Now, the Gektl are not a culture, but a species/race. They may have a culture as well though. However, the Mandalorians are only a culture. The Mandalorian culture is heavily based on confrontation and war, so this smile trait would fit with them, though in some species smiles may be more easily expressed. However, the Gektl page doesn't really say they are a war/confrontation based. Then again, this was mentioned after Jet Nebula was giving her a hard time about her species. So, what do you guys think? D.Kaiser 21:46, June 24, 2011 (UTC)
- Ugh, tough call. I'd be inclined to lean towards it being a Gektl thing, since it seems like Mandalorians wouldn't express a challenge with an expression that would be completely hidden behind a helmet, and because it seems like the sort of behavior an author would attribute to a reptilian race, but neither of those points are exactly ironclad reasoning. jSarek 09:25, June 25, 2011 (UTC)
