Different features ?Edit

  • Unless I'm mistaken, isn't Durge's physique, by the time of his unmasking, really different from the rest of his species? There is another picture of him from "Visionaries", whcih has him before the "Big change", I'll scan it and replace it. Everyone okay with this? --Sauron18 12:17 23 June 2006 (CDT)
    • Visionaries is non-canon, though - Kwenn 17:32, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
      • Stil, some of it is canon isn't it? --Sauron18 12:17 23 June 2006 (CDT)
        • From what I see, "Prototype" is canon, but I'm unsure, could someone verify? If that is so, then the more "unaltered" version of a Gen'Dai would be this:

This is the best I've seen of Durge's face on comic I think (other than his Mad Face later one)--Sauron18 12:17 23 June 2006 (CDT)

actually there are many similarieties beetween the two pictures the most notable is the mandibale face claw thingies

  • I know, but my point was that by the 22 BBY Durge had already changed a lot from what a Gen'dai really is more like, and this one, being about 1000 years before, is more close to the actual faces IMO. --Sauron18 06:33, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
  • Anyone think the CW-Cartoon purple spaghetti Durge picture could be him with his skin blown off? Unless most of his body is like that, but not his face. — Aiddat (Holonet) (Contribs Log) NR Seal 02:56, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
    • I agree that that is probably just his damaged body. Gen'Dai seem to look mostly like humans (except for their mandibles) with shape shifting and amazing healing abilities. Even the face we see in "Obsession" doesn't seem to be the natural Gen'Dai face, since the Durge of 1000 years before looks quite a bit more human-like --Sauron18 00:55, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
      • Might be a natural part of Gen'Dai aging to start as humanoids and change as they age. But regardless, Durge in the Clone Wars picture is shown with his cybernetic augmentations, which are certainly not typical of his species. Shouldn't that alone make him an atypical specimen?Darth Ceratis 02:38, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Could have been caused by his torture.--Lord OblivionSith holocronSith Emblem 03:43, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

  • And actually, I was just thinking, and his other picture really doesn't look that different. If you were to remove the soft parts of his face, ie; the lips and nose cartilage, you'd get something like the "angry face" pic. I'm guessing that he's just suffered some severe facial injury that blasted the flesh off his face.Darth Ceratis 01:34, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

nameEdit

if the species's name is based on Genndy Tartakovsky is that meant to be an insult or an honor? Ugluk 20:12, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Probably an honor, it's a very cool name for a rather cool species. --Sauron18 00:56, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

A Random ThoughtEdit

If Gen'Dai regenerative abilities are as strong as they are shown to be, I wonder if they are like starfish in that a piece that is broken off would grow into a whole. if that would be the case, Durge could have concievably lost a piece of himself on Muunilinst that didn't reattach when he healed himself, and in time it might have grown into an all-new Durge. It would have certainly taken decades, but that would explain why he hasn't reappeared since the Clone Wars. Additionally, since he has no central nervous system and his brain is distributed throughout his body, he would still have Durge's mind and personality. In my opinion, if anyone from the Clone Wars era needs to make a reappearance, Durge is the only one who makes any sense at all.Darth Ceratis 20:37, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Force SensitivityEdit

I've always wondered if Gen'Dai could be Force Sensitive? I've always guessed/assumed that because there's no record of there being a Force Sensitive Gen'dai, that they simply can't be?

If so, this should be stated within the article. Or atleast mentioned it's rare for such thing to occur. Perhaps with or without reason for why.

Please reply with answers/opinions.

Force Sensitivity?Edit

i would like to know where these thoughts of "they cant be force sensitive" come from, and i would like to see proof of this.

they are living creatures, to be half dead you would have to be dying?

last time i checked, before obiwan destroywed durge, he wasnt dying. so i think that statement lacks credibility. Unsigned comment by Joshthejosh (talk • contribs).

  • I've reverted this latest edit. If it is true, then someone should be able to put it back in with a proper source. -- Ozzel 23:29, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Accidentally translatedEdit

I accidentally translated the name from Gen'Dai to Gen'dai (D in lower case), i was really trying to do this in the spanish wiki, (when I actually did), if you think is incorrect what I did, please revert it and sorry, my mistake.--Lop-Har Kela 21:17, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
