This isn't the right place to discuss such things, however no. It's not suprising. Especially if you take Giddean's history into account. Pretty much the rest of the ruling class tried, and failed, numerous times to remove him due to his stance. After all, war is good for the shipyards of the Kuat Drive Yards.
