Really? Are they called sunglasses? Do we have an article for pants yet? I think Han Solo wears some. --SparqMan 07:22, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- VFD it it you must, but it's been a discovery for me that these sunglassy things exist in Star Wars, whatever they are called. - Sikon [Talk] 11:03, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- This is actually pretty noteworthy, since I don't think glasses have been seen anywhere in Star Wars - Kwenn 11:07, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- See spectacles. Three instances (including this one) of glasses in the univers, I think, justify the existence of this article (and the spectacle one). Mind you there are lots of other articles on things that are equally or more "insignificant" than sunglasses. VFD this article, and I'll vote keep KEJ 11:21, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

- Aha, trust Droids and Ewoks to jam an oar into continuity - Kwenn 21:41, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Page move?
Edit
Aren't they known as glareshades IU? Diblen Harleys entry in the Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook mentions that he wears "glareshades", and I always assumed it was the SW term for sunglasses. - Cavalier One(Squadron channel) 08:24, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Mebbe this could be combined with spectacles since sunglasses are essentially a variation of those. Trak Nar Ramble on 08:39, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- We went through this some time ago, and I think the result was no consensus. Personally, I think a move to Glareshades is the way to go if that's the IU term. I don't think a move to Spectacles is the way to go, since the function of sunglasses is rather different from that of spectacles. KEJ 08:47, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Are they ever refered to as sunglasses IU? I can't recall ever reading the term. If not, then as KEJ suggests, the page should be moved to Glareshades since it is a canonical term. However, if they are refered to as sunglasses, should a separate page for Glareshades be made and we assume they are two different things serving similar purposes? - Cavalier One(Squadron channel) 09:13, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sunglasses is a conjectural term. I don't think they were ever referred to by that. - Sikon 15:14, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Big conjecture tag on the page and I didn't see ... my bad. Is there any objection to moving the page to Glareshades? - Cavalier One(Squadron channel) 17:43, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

- It appears that "sunglasses" is an in-universe term, given Burellion Tiy's entry in Cracken's Rebel Operatives: "He has an enormous collection of gaudy sunglasses and he thinks it's funny to keep changing pairs when customers aren't looking."--Muuuuuurgh 17:11, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
