This should be titled "Hoth (Jedi)", correct? --SparqMan 22:23, 13 May 2005 (UTC)

  • I think that's probably the best option.--Beeurd 22:45, 13 May 2005 (UTC)
  • I know this discussion took place quite a while ago, but I'd like to re-open it. I know that as a general rule we exclude titles such as "Lord," but in this case it would serve to distinguish the Jedi from the planet without the awkward "(Jedi)." Also, he possesses this title in all of his appearances. I think it would be beneficial to rename this article Lord Hoth. – Aidje talk 19:19, 13 Oct 2005 (UTC)
    • I'd be inclined to agree. Gothymog 18:46, 11 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Height Edit

The infobox used to say "2.1 m" for height. I didn't find anything about that when I was going through the sources, but if there was a source, someone can add it back in. - Lord Hydronium 13:28, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Not in JvS, obviously, and I didn't see it in PoD. He was fairly tall though.... QuentinGeorge 07:16, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Seems like it might be in Ultimate Adversaries or Power of the Jedi. Kuralyov 06:43, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Both of those sources only mention Hoth as part of the narrative. No personal info on the guy. - Lord Hydronium 06:46, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Contradicting Sources Edit

Maybe this is just me, (please try to not to be too mean,) but are we using the Jedi v Sith comics or Path of Destruction? Who knows how much of Path of Destruction is canon. Vapaad was incorrectly used, so we don't know how much is left that's canon. The Pure 501st 20:19, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

  • The mention of vaapad was a mistake. -- I need a name (Complain here) 21:01, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
  • There are actually several errors in PoD, but they don't make the rest of it any less canon. Events from both are included in the article. Where there are contradictions, the "true events" haven't been officially ironed out, so we try to work around that or make a note of it in "Behind the Scenes" if it can't be. - Lord Hydronium 21:17, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Well I am not saying that we should just use Jedi v Sith because of PoD's errors. But thanks for clearing that up for me!

Something Bugging Me Edit

The article says that since Hoth is a planet and therefore cannot be named after him isnt really true. Hoth may not have been discovered before then and thus meaning he could be the namer of the planet. I know that Hoth actually isn't named after him, it's just the reason why is what I want to remove. Can I?--Thoggnee 03:19, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

  • The planet Hoth was known of as early as 4000 BBY. See the quote here, which is from Tales of the Jedi (audio).Tommy9281 Dark side Master SWGTCG (No truth in me) 03:23, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
    • Ok thanks for the clarification :)--Thoggnee 19:34, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
    • Then again, the Article says existed, can I change that to discovered. Or that it's name existed before him?--Thoggnee 19:38, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
      • Sure. Feel free to make changes to any article, so long as what you add is factual and can be proven as such if necessary.Tommy9281 Dark side Master SWGTCG (No truth in me) 20:08, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

Armor Emblems?Edit

Is it of note that his armor - particularly (or maybe only) in this image - bears the fleur-de-lis emblem commonly associated with real-world France? I'm not sure how to wiggle it into the behind-the-scenes section... Qwo 23:36, April 3, 2011 (UTC)

Named after Rohlan Dyre? Edit

So in Jason Fry's Essential Guide to Warfare endnotes, part 4, he mentions this:

"A lot of fans will recognize Hoth’s given name as a reference to the Mandalorian warrior and reluctant Jedi ally Rohlan Dyre from John Jackson Miller’s Knights of the Old Republic material, but Rohlan Dyre is, in turn, named to evoke the hero Roland of medieval epic. I like the idea that Rohlan might have become a hero for Jedi troubadors."

Do you think it's worth mentioning that Hoth was named after Rohlan Dyre?-- 02:55, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

Except it doesn't state that Hoth was named after Rohlan. It says he might have been, so stating that he was in the article is speculation. At best, noting the connection in the BTS and sourcing it accurately would be the best course of action here. - Cavalier OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 08:06, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

Will do.-- 23:35, June 18, 2012 (UTC)
