i have trouble understanding this concept. there were non-human sith (i'm referring here to the sith order, not the sith species), such as darth maul. it seems to me that they would have been working against their own best interests to put it VERY mildly. and if i understand correctly, and i'm not sure i do, there were those of the sith species who were also of the sith order.

and apparently (i'm not sure if "apparently" is the right word to use here) the sith order was NAMED after a non-human species in the first place, on top of everything else mentioned above.

• Palpatine wasn't a speciesist. The Empire was. Personally, Sidious saw force-sensitive non-humans as better than non-force-sensitive humans. [edit] Historical Analysis of Dictators and Xenophobia

Dictators use xenophobia to create surges in radical nationalism, which is sometimes compromised by the dictator themselves. This means that dictators allow exceptions for those who give them greater power. After the enactment of anti-Semetic laws by the Nazi government, Hitler soon realized that some friends of his had Jewish blood in their family line, he allowed a number of them to escape the Holocaust. In addition, Hitler's Aryan Race concept did not prevent him from creating Japanese and Arab allies who also . Iraq briefly had a Nazi regime in 1941, which was overthrown, and the leader was allowed sanctuary in Berlin, despite being of a different race. Palpatine kept the beings he liked, and desposed of all who he distained. Palpatine wasn't stupid, he knew Admiral Thrawn was too loyal and too competent of a commander to be thrown away, he knew Mas Ameda and other alien beings could be easily manipulated to do his bidding, but killed those who posed resistance.

Could it be that creatures descended from humans are treated better than non-humans. This would expain why almost all the 'aliens' that serve the Empire are 'near-humans' (Thawn who is Chiss - a near-human?) - Lt. Jaris
