Talk:Humanoid
Back to page
I don't think Human counts as a humanoid species. Since bipedal species are split into humanoid and near-human, to say a Human is a Humanoid is to completely undermine the two definitions.
I added a link to the Near-Human article in the introduction; I thought it would help people locate the species they are searching for. Smellynerfherder 17:56, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Where does this "anthropoid" business come from? I had never seen it before today. What's the source? Jenosidanian 06:39, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Early Marvel Star Wars issues. They describe Chewie as an anthropoid, which is exactly the same. MoffRebus 15:45, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Could you add a source then? Or even a reference at the bottom? I agree with Jenosidanian, it's not a commonly used term. Smellynerfherder 19:02, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Mandalorian?
Edit
Sorta curious why Mandalorian is listed as a near-human species, when it's more of a culture then any one species. I've seen images of Mando'ade of various species, including rodian.StavesAndSabers 19:34, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Semi-Humanoid
Edit
All of the "semi-humanoid" species listed are called humanoid in their own articles except for Quermian, Talz, and Toydarian. I think the rest, if not these three as well should be moved into the humanoid list. Likewise, some of the species on the humanoid list seem to me to be more semi-humanoid, like Amanin, which are not described as humanoid in their article. There are also near-humans in the humanoid list, which the article itself says are different. If no objections are made I am going to do some rearranging of the species listed.
