LowercaseEdit

Why is the l in lego lowercase? RC-1262 21:19, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

viago - iegoEdit

what source do we have that says its Iego and not Viago since when anakin said it, it sounded more like Viago than Iego Ugluk 00:56, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

  • The two sources at the bottom of the article. -- Riffsyphon1024 02:00, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
    • I was under the impression that the two sources were contradictory. Ugluk 21:54, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
      • According to the Lucasfilm Holocron Database, "Iego is the correct spelling" ([1]) Melda 16:23, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
        • I'm holding a copy of Labyrinth of Evil right in front of me right now, and on page 71 (around the middle of the page, at the beginning of a paragraph) it says: "He had thought her an Angel, arrived on Tatooine from the Moons of Iego." It is listed "Iego", not "Viago", so why does the article claim it is misspelled? 129.107.81.12 05:56, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
          • They fixed it in later editions, maybe? Golden Monkey 13:36, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Move page Edit

I think it would be a good idea to move this page to lego (planet) so you can get to it with less effort, every time I search for it it gives me the Lego company. 24.8.255.224 13:25, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, i thought it was spelled with a L and not i 76.120.51.15 16:42, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Conflicting sources (discussion from another talk page) Edit

There is a discussion ongoing on Talk:Mystery of a Thousand Moons regarding contradictions between the Mystery of a Thousand Moons TCW episode and the Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds RPG sourcebook. The discussion can be found here. Based on the information discussed there, I have suggested the possibility of a {{Twoconflicting}} template. Any objections? Master JonathanJedi Council Chambers 04:27, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

  • One, the absence of any distinct points of conflict. Dangerdan97 04:55, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
    • Question: Have you ever read the entry in GatORW? What I discussed on the other talk page was just broad examples—there are plenty of details that contradict as well—so many, in fact, that there are too many to list. If you don't have a copy of GatORW, you might want to find one and look at the entry before you outright state that there are no contradictions as you would probably be surprised. I'd try to list some here, but I'm not very good at doing that kind of stuff. If someone else that has a copy of the book could comment, I'd appreciate it. Again, I'm not trying to attack you; I just want to make sure that you're making informed comments. Master JonathanJedi Council Chambers 05:05, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
      • I have owned a copy of the book since it was released. It's sitting in my lap right now. I'm poring over the Iego entry, trying to find just one example of an irreconcilable fact, with no luck so far. Dangerdan97 05:08, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
        • OK, just checking. As I said on the other page, Iego is depicted in the book as a planet almost of legend, where ships mysteriously disappear to, crash on the surface, and then no one ever takes off again. It also states that there is no government—just competing tribes. One comment states that some of the castaways on Iego could date back to the Old Sith Wars. That, combined with the comment that the Yuuzhan Vong invasion would mean nothing to the planet, suggests to me that this description holds true throughout the entire timespan in between, including the Clone Wars. The episode, on the other hand, clearly indicates that ships do take off (as evidenced by the fifty pilots who were destroyed trying to leave, as well as the Seps having left), and the episode guide indicates that prior to the Seps' arrival, there was regular transit to and from the planet as well as spice convoys, not to mention that Iego is shown to have a government (as evidenced when Obi-Wan calls a meeting of "the Iego council")—in other words, it is depicted as a perfectly normal planet. Furthermore, the number of buildings shown seems like far too many, considering that the book gives the number of castaways at only 4,500. All of this seems like direct contradictions to me. Master JonathanJedi Council Chambers 05:32, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
          • Alright, here goes. Iego is *described* as having the qualities you mention above, not depicted. Numerous times in the entry terms such as "Rumors are whispered", "witnesses claim", "seems to exist", and "most accounts". Most importantly, and I quote, "the following information represents Sanbra's 'best guess' on the facts." Nothing is quoted as being the absolute truth, and indeed there is much made of how most of what is known about the world is the result of spacer yarns and attempts to find the planet in the first place, sort of like how most Bigfoot evidence come from people who are looking for the creature in the first place. I never heard any mentions of any Iego residents' longevity, so it's entirely possible that some of the people we see in the episode may be 4,000 yeas old. Your opinion that the Clone Wars wouldn't affect Iego is not the basis on which a continuity error would be determined, and the same goes for you opinion on the number of buildings. One or more of the tribes could very well have a council like the one we see described (Obi-Wan is likely generalizing it as the Iego council, as its doubtful he would be appraised of the individual tribes). We know no particulars of the timeframe of either the spice miners or the Separatist occupation, though the book does helpfully state that Coli Carinth made a dozen or so trips to Iego, indicating that regular transit to and from the planet *does* happen. I hope now that those points, at least, don't seem so contradictory to you. Dangerdan97 06:06, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
            • OK, now I'm confused. Can we get a third party's opinion here? Master JonathanJedi Council Chambers 06:21, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
              • Greetings. I was not going to post here, because Dangerdan97 has expressed my opinion almost point by point. GatORW is mostly told from an in-universe point of view — not the reality of Iego, but the (mistaken) scholars's opinion of Iego, based on rumors. The only point I would like to add is: With the cartoon series still on, maybe they will fix the apparent retcon bothering Jonathan. Maybe next week we will discover (or Chee will say, or Wizards of the Coast will say) that Dooku had been using high-level Force illusions in Iego, or that there are two planets with the same name, or something that can reconcile the episode with (I insist) the rumors in GatORW. To me, it's too soon to say "something's wrong".--Skippy Farlstendoiro 07:54, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
                • Alrighty, I have a question stemming from a discussion as to the validity of Iego's 'lack of time and hunger' effects it has on people and the use of Wookiee a source for canonical informarion. I've seen information in topics listed as 'non-canon' with specific markers. Here's my question: Is the info in the topics considered canon until it's officially labeled otherwise?

Lego Edit

Should we put a "You may be looking for Lego" thing at the top of the page? "Iego" looks a lot like "lego".—BobaFett1 Bounties collected Jaster's Feather.svg 01:09, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

  • I don't see the need as the topics are so vastly different. Anyone searching for Iego, will find it; anyone searching for Lego will find it. The one letter makes little-to-no difference for most people's ability to find it. Even typing Lego into the search bar in all lower case letters gives the Lego article. Ok, I was just wondering since I might as well be dyslexic.—BobaFett1 Bounties collected Jaster's Feather.svg 17:48, March 21, 2010 (UTC)
