This article should be renamed InterGalactic Banking Clan not the current one. The organisation is called the InterGalactic Clan in the Attack of the Clones, Clone Wars novels and the Clone Wars Television series on Cartoon Network. Its droids (notable products include the IG-Lancer Droids, IG-100 MagnaGuards and the infamous IG-88s have their names start with the two letter "IG". IG is the abbrevation for InterGalactic.
I remember reading in Ultimate Alien Anthology that the IGBC was allowed to continue after the Clone Wars, and became the creditor to both the Empire and the New Republic. Granted, UAA was written in 2003, two years before ROTS, but I think some clarification should be made. -- SFH 00:41, 12 Jan 2006 (UTC)
I doubt it. All of the Separatist-alligned organizations were dissolved after the Clone Wars. Admiral J. Nebulax 20:06, 12 Jan 2006 (UTC)
No. The IGBC continued well into the Imperial Era (see Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds). QuentinGeorge 08:30, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
When was Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds published? Admiral J. Nebulax 21:33, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
2004. Again, that was too early. -- SFH 21:38, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
Exactly. Therefore, it was most likely dissolved with the rest. Admiral J. Nebulax 21:45, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
There's no source which specifically claims it was "dissolved". Only the Trade Federation was. QuentinGeorge 06:12, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
How do you know? Insider 84 says to expect the same to happen to the rest of them. Admiral J. Nebulax(talk) 13:08, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Regardless, if there's no source that specifically states the Banking Clan is actually nationalized along with the other commerce guilds, then the older info stands - Kwenn 17:40, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
It still seems strange that Palpatine kept the IGBC intact after the Clone Wars. Admiral J. Nebulax(talk) 19:08, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Yep, why have the company Leaders killed, and keep the companies?--Rune Haako 19:10, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
But if no sources say that it was dissolve, then I guess it wasn't after all. Admiral J. Nebulax(talk) 19:11, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
GATORW and Empire at War suggest the IGBC survived despite their Confederate role bc the Emperor realized the IGBC was essential to the stability of the Imperial Credit. They are alive and well at least until the NJO, and their importance to the economy is evident in HoT where Muunilinst is still "Moneyland." These sources remain canon unless Leland overrules them.JustinGann 15:12, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
I'm fairly certain the IBC didn't manufacture the IG-88 droids.--Darth OblivionComlink 21:39, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
According to the IG-88 page, they were made by Holowan Laboratories. Guess I should take it off the page then. Ijtzoi 23:41, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Good. The IBC could be considered partially responsible for their creation, but they didn't manufacture them. The IG-100 MagnaGuards can probably stay since they were commissioned by IBC--Darth OblivionComlink 00:02, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Like I asked on the Corporate Alliance talk page, is there an image of the IBC logo or something we could put in the infobox I added? Unit 8311 16:23, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
I checked the New Essen. to Droids and the New Essen. to Ships and the New Essen. to Weapond and Technology. There is no logo on the Corporate Alliance or IG Banking Clan. --40pxDarth Tyler(talk) 01:49, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Just curious -- what's the basis for the "assets halfway to the next galaxy" thing? I couldn't seem to find a citation here or in the "The Galaxy" article. I'm sure one exists, but this is the first time I've ever come across this idea.
Is anyone else wondering by why a banking clan would have assets over 1 million lightyears outside the galaxy (more than 10 times it's breadth), that is in a place more than 1 million light years from the nearest reasonable conglomeration of matter? WTF. Even in Star Wars, such a journey would surely be needlessly long and costly. It's not like there's a shortage of empty space or good hiding places inside of a galaxy...
I came on this article to find out what happened to the IBC after the Republic took Muunilinst. It seems to me that they remained a part of the CIS, so obviously they were able to relocate and continue operation. Is there any information about this? 75.67.142.56 03:08, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Most likely they used resources from Mygeeto and other such planets in order to continue backing the Separatists financially, though their military backing was likely severely reduced after Muunilinst was taken.
I've heard rumors here and there that these guys are based on the stereotypical Jewish bankers in real life. Thoughts? The similarities are there, so I'm wondering if it'd be going to far as to point out this correlation between fictional characters and real life stereotypes (obviously only in the behind the scenes section).129.107.81.12 03:09, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
what dude go away. thats retarded. Ralok 03:02, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
